Thanks for the knowledge Ken. There must be a counter. Perhaps wearing them all in one day will reverse the bad luck? Or is this where someone says I must gift my 7X CB to break the curse?

Well, if that makes you feel better...... I can send you my address, but no promises. ;) Or, like Bowen said, delete the image and pretend it didn't happen.

VS lightly used navy blue. I was afraid it would be too big based on the seller’s description, but it fits like it was made for me.

I did a minor re-block and the open crown was a full six inches. The bound brim is 2 5/8 inches wide.

The second of a trio of imperfects

Borsalino Qualità Extra Superiore size 6 1/2 or 7 1/2 US. True size

The felt had some traces of moths, so Fleur of Penumbra Hat minimize them

Felt color is "Ghiaccio" with a short hair finish and the ribbon is contrasting. The small invasion of red on the felt is given by the color of the red bricks of the house.

The proportions are as follow: overwelted brim with a single seam are at 6 cm. the crown is 11 cm. high

Made in the historical Borsalino factory in 1977 it is in excellent conditions

The restoration work has succeeded very well and this makes me happy because I really like the hat and among the many Borsalino in the collection this is a rare color.

Oh my!! In my noggin size too...Sweet indeed!

The third component of the imperfect trio, together with the Borsalino "Rutenio" and the "Ghiaccio".

Borsalino Qualità Extra Superiore size 6 1/2 or 7 1/2 US

This arrived in excellent condition, but the ribbon and, especially the bow, were useless. I had no indication of why.

Borsalino "Misto Volga" with "Asfalto" ribbon put back on its original shape by Fleur to Penumbra Hat with the replacement of the ribbon with a perfect copy of the original in "Asfalto" the hat has become perfect.

The interior is perfect and the felt too. It is a mixing of light and deep greys, very malleable

The measurements of "M. Volga" are: overwelted brim at 5 cm. Crown at 11 cm. for another Borsalino of the great "Misto" family

Bowen, with my old calloused hands & a bit of neuropathy I have to get up in the range of 40's, 50's, 7X's & 100's before I can feel much difference in the hand of the felt. I'm more like the 1890's guy than the 2019 hipster.

I hear you Jack!
I always said i was born a hundred years too late.
That quote made me laugh!
Reminds me of about 10 treads around here i look at every so often just to make me feel better about myself.
I practice tolerance and understanding (patience) by not replying. But every now and then i just gotta throw out a “who does your breathing for you” type post.
My sympathies for the old hands deal. I’m right there with you in more ways than one.
Thanks for your contributions to the western styles etc. threads Jack. The place would be a lot flatter without you.

Don't be such a curmudgeon B [emoji6]. We Europeans do our own breathing and have our own style. Some of us do so like your western style, too.

Some of us would also like an OR etc. or two. [emoji4]

Thanks Bowen...I think. But I reserve the right to change my mind in the light of a new day!
