Two hats finally arrived from California via Brent.

The Danish Customs and Excise decided to kidnap them, but I've now payed the ransom fee, and the hats are now safely in my possession [emoji4]

Brent posted them when they were originally up for sale, but now you can see how they look on my head. Don't blame the hats if you don't like the look [emoji23]

The first one is what I call a funky Borsalino. Very modern. The colour, style, and stitching on the crown appealed to me as soon as I saw it. It's not a high quality Borsa, but it is unusual and perfect for Jazz concerts. I just had to have it in my collection.

The brim works both up or down.

Thanks Brent.

The second hat from Brent is in a totally different league from the modern Borsalino.

A Knox Superfine Homburg. The quality of this hat speaks for itself. Its dimensions and proportions are, what I would call, so American. High crown, wide oval brim, eye catching semi wide ribbon, and large bow all add to the eye catching qualities of this Knox.

Flip it over and the inside of this Homburg just attest to the super nature of its workmanship. Even the logo of the Hat Shop I presume it was sold in stand out.

You got a lot of hat for your $12.50 back then. I'm presuming 1950s. Knox experts, please feel free to put me right.

All in all, I couldn't be happier.

Again, thanks Brent.

Both great looking hats, Steve. The Borsalino is very spicy and the Knox looks like a real classic.

Got my early 1950's Mallory today. OPS era. The felt is very nice and the crown takes a shape without steam or water. The brim is a little stiffer than I expected, but still very good. It isn't as nice as my 7XCB but still very good. 5.5" Open Crown with 2.75" brim. I gave it a good brushing and toyed with the brim some. I'm not sure if I'll stick with this shape or try something new. Overall I am very happy with it.

Very nice. Such a classy color combination. Good job sneaking a 7 1/4 passed Max too.

You should be pleased with it. It looks like a great hat. I have a Mallory of those dimensions. All of the sweatband stitching failed as soon as I got it!

I liked the Akubra Balmoral hemp so much, I decided to go with this Range. 3-1/2”
down brim, 4- 1/2” crown at the pinch. The hemp is quite stiff but won’t be for long in the humidity on The Garden Isle, which is what I needed.

That is a great hat. Exceptional condition too. Did it come out of estate, or do you know?

No...If the listing said so, I don't remember.
I just realized I don't want to imagine my poor family trying to sell all my hats when I am gone. Maybe I will just tell them to send the hats to Brent and Bowen so they will sell them.
My Knox 100 goes to my son, whether he wants it or not. [emoji2]

If I decide to dump my patients, can I go live in Hawaii too, Jonesy?

I'd like too be your son, too, Max... but a 50-something is fine for your humble servant, jajaja.
