I might be visiting my daughter and grandkids in St. Albans area soon. Waiting for the snow to melt. Having retired as a mailman in nearby Swanton, I don't miss the snow :)

Swanton?! The home of SHAGGY'S Snack Bar!! The last stop on the old St. J. & L.C. Railroad!! My best friend's dad worked that line.

Well, Snow's almost gone over in the northeast kingdom, as of about 5:00pm today. It was a banner year, they tell me!

I found some cool artifacts at the site of the LC Railroad (Railroad Depot Museum) with a metal detector (with permission).

I love this new hat I bought today. It is a Stetson Whippet Medalist JP. The guy at the store said the JP stood for Japan. He said the ones made for Japan have a taller crown. That is what attracted me to it. The brim measures 2 3/4. I paid $37 dollars for it at the Resistol outlet in Garland TX.

Good get. I know a couple of people who have one of those. They seem to be much nicer than the domestic ones.

From Mr. Fawcett, (sniffed approval by Miles, but who amongst us doesn't enjoy the scent of beaver...?) in a semi-furry steel gray, black ribbon...
Truth be told, I thought I wanted a bound brim, but the underwelt really rocks, and I couldn’t be happier!

I agree with Miles. Cool hat and I agree the underwelt works with that brim width. Enjoy!

5 3/4” open crown, 4 5/8” raw edge brim. The brim shape (flared bumpers) is a result of forcing the 7 1/2 hat onto my 7 5/8 long oval head. The crown is soft and holds any dry crease I want to put on it. The sweat is soft and very supple, but the surface is beginning to flake off in places. I’m not sure if the band is original, and it isn’t attached and relies solely on the friction to hold it on the crown (I suspect it was added later).
