What can you tell me...uh, I mean us, about this one Dr. Tejeda?

They're all wonderful, but that one caught and held my attention immediately. Yeah, I have unusual tastes. :D
Not so unusual, Z! What a keen eye you have.

It just came out of the white gas bath last night, and it hasn't had a chance to dry.

I put Pecard leather dressing on the sweat before the bath, and will again now. It seemed to help. The white gas bath was necessary, I am afraid.

Customs seems to like the hats that are sent to me from across the pond. Hats within the EU make it to my doorstep without customs, so this one made it fairly quickly.
Barbisio in Carnagione colour. Twotone puggaree style ribbon. Bound brim at 7cm and crown 10,5cm at the pinch. It was listed as a womens' hat and without a size. I bid on it anyway, taking a chance and it turned out to be a size 59. It will be part of the next Holland-Italy exchange, because the ribbon treatment is different enough for it to make it back to its homeland. Nice very thin felt with a lovely soft hand. Would have loved it to fit me, but it will be right at home and in excellent and abundant company with Danieles' collection.

My new Stetsonian. I thought it was a darkish gray, as can be seen in the first pic (thanks for the circle, Z). Then I gave it a white gas bath, steamed it and brushed it, and it turns out it is grayish blue. It feels as if I discovered a new hat.

Now I know why Stetsonians are so sought-after. The felt is very soft and supple, to the verge of floppiness. No need for steam at all.

I also discovered that Pecard Antique Leather Dressing does help to prevent the sweat from drying out and becoming more brittle when applied before the gas bath. I will apply a second layer shortly. It is a great product!
Fortunately, I won't need to take this hat to Ignacio. It fit perfectly.

Thank you for the information! Wow, it looks like a completely different hat after the gas bath.

I found some pics the seller sent me. The color really is very different.

Again, wow! I'm familiar with the difficulties of photographing the color of a fur felt hat accurately, but that looks so different that I would probably have thought the seller sent me the wrong hat. Regardless of it's true color, I still like it!

Another great hat parade, Max. I've heard of people with personal trainers, but someone with a personal hatter is probably a first!
Hahaha. No, Ignacio has all the work he can handle. I have to make an appointment, like going to the dentist, and I am pretty sure he charges me more than he charges people that leave hats to be picked up later.
