A new Stetson Penn, ordered off of the Stetson Europe website.
Shipping took two days and I received it in a Stetson box, got it in a size 6 7/8 (55cm)

It has modern Stetson satin lining but sadly does not have a leather band. Not quite sure what the sweatband ís made of though.

Brim is 3 3/4 inches wide
Crown height is approximately 5 1/2 inches

I heard a rumor that Max @drmaxtejeda was building a panic room lined with the built-ins from the, now closed, Bernie Utz Hats in Seattle. When he feels stressed he can just step into the room and look at his hats until he feels better. :D

I know I would feel better looking at his hats...

Ha ha ha...Lmao!!
I saw this coming.
That’s why i told him if he retires and relocates in the US, don’t look for a house, look for an old bank that’s closed.
In retrospect, i was shortsighted.....
A chain of banks Max or possibly Fort Knox, i hear it’s empty!

My new-to-meCaxton, also conformed to my head. It was waaay too large, and unreeded.

I am also posting some pics of an article about Ignacio in a Mexican magazine, of him working on my Caxton, and an antique contraption he has to measure the size of the hat a customer is comfortable in.

Where’s the animal sacrifice and whatever else is needed to magic any hat into a 7 1/4 long oval?

What will we do when the folks with these skills are gone? Is there a new generation ready to take their place? Gorgeous hats, Max.

Mind if I post photos of Ignacio’s hat tools in the Hatters tools thread? Might be of interest to someone.

Looks great on you Max! What were Ignacio's thoughts on this felt?
He said it was going to be a b***h to make the hat smaller, because it is a very tight felt. He said felts like that just aren't made anymore, and asked how much it cost me. He was surprised when I told him, thought it should have been twice as much.
Then, when I gave him the Dobbs Fifty to conform, he was in awe.
Said the felt was immensely superior to the thousand-dollar El Presidente stuff that Stetson was selling nowadays.
