Has anyone personally measured the size of the Stetson Reward Shantung brim? I know it is advertised as 2-1/2 inches. But so is The Stetson Retro Panama, which I have, the brim of which barely reaches 2-1/2. It’s more line 2-3/8. I might consider the Reward IF it has a full 2-1/2 inch brim. Thank you.

I haven’t measured it. You might do better in the “Ask A Question Get An Answer” thread. This thread is for people to post their new hats.
Good luck.

Just in. I believe this is a German made hat, company name is Windsor. I really love the fairly thin pleated ribbon. The felt is very light and soft. I’m pretty much over the moon. I’ve been obsessed with the cattleman crease... it pretty much turns this hat into a sweet and soft modern Caribou OR... and I think I like it.

Sorry I missed this. Yes it's a German made hat but I am not sure what company made it or owned the mark. It's possible they were a wholesaler / distributor. The quality was high for a non brand name. My guss is later 1950s. Please post it on the German - Austrian thread if you have time.

Here is a "display" hat I picked up. Display because it is a size 7, but still an awsome hat. Liner was missing, but found the contemporary (to the hat) collar ads behind the sweat used to size the hat. It is marked on the sweat "genuine velour" and "Kingsbury". Hat is in awesome shape......I would guess early 20's.....

Hi all. After some research and trial and error I ended up with a collection that suits me.

The two on the left are Stetson Stratoliners, one hemp and the other whatever they are normally made of :)
Top right (my favorite) is the hemp Stetson Open Road. Middle right is the Yellow 108 "Luke" fedora (color: bone). Last, lower right, is a polypropylene fedora from Gorin Bros... good for rainy days. When I get really brave I will shell out the $500 for a custom hat from Hatwrks (Nashville) or Lone Hawk Hats (L.A.)!

Just got home from two weeks traveling to find much to my delight, the two Stetson Fredericks I had ordered. One in Navy, the other in Caribou. But hang it all, they are both too large! You can clearly see the label that says 58 / 7-1/4, but they fit large. Since I ordered them Long Oval, they aren't returnable. Guess I'll have to put spacers in the headband...

They are really nice, though. Is there any chance of shrinking them with a little steam? They are wool felt, aren't they?
