Third one of the hat-exchange. Same orginal owner as the Angora (RHM). Borsalino Savoy in the colour Mogano (mahogany). Brim 6cm and crown 11cm at the pinch and with a windcord. Felted edge and I just realize I was wrong in my previous post about Borsalino not doing felted edges after the war, because this one is from the mid to late fifties, judging by the label. Wonderful felt that easily dry-creases and holds any shape.

Another stunner Stefan. Love that bow with the little "gills". Mahogany is a rich brown. Yummy.

No real idea on the age, but a very nice light and moldable felt. I'm a happy camper.

Michael
You are too lucky! Seems like the J.C. Penny store in your area did a bang up business in hats.

The mailman brought me a large box from Italy this saturday and the results of the next installment of the Holland-Italy hat-exchange program are in. First one.
Borsalino in the colour Misto lapis, size 56. Grey colour with blue tones. It's a heather felt of incredible quality. Curled brim at 5cm and crown at 11 cm in front. Not a homburg and not a lords hat either, but a dress hat with curled brim. It actually works as a fedora as well but it does not like its brim snapped down. I'm thinking late 1930's.

Love the brim on this Borsalino. The color is super. Very impressive Stefan.

I got this OPS Stetson Stratoliner as a 'try to save it' project. Unfortunately the sweat was broken toast.

I replaced the sweatband after giving the hat a generous naptha bath, with repeated rinsing and filtering. The amount of dirt removed was prodigious for sure.

It came with a crushed in cattlemen's crease and now has been reshaped.

Now it's definitely in wearable condition.

Nice save, pity about the sweat. At least that rare OPS price tag is extant.

Haven't posted this one yet. I think you'll like this one too. Another one from the hat-exchange program. Barbisio heather felt Misto Montana in size 57. Brim at 6cm and crown 10,5 cm at the pinch. The finish is called semi ruvido which means something like semi-rough (which is what it feels like). New old stock. Love this hat which Daniele found for me.
