I posted this in What Hat Are You Wearing Today thread.

This is one of the several Tonak Selentino Sterling hats I recently acquired from a gentleman trying to unload a bunch of new old stock hats. It is very soft and pliable. I haven't messes with the crease yet, but it is certainly a softer hat then the Stetson Temple I purchased some time back. The fit is true to size and very comfortable on my head (today was the first wear).

The hat is 100% fur felt, but there is definitely an impression that it was built to a price. For what I payed, I'm happy with it. It was not my first choice of color, but it's better than some of the other offerings the seller had.

If you're considering one of these all I'd say is to make sure you buy it right. If you can get one in a good color that you like and you can get it cheap I'd say go for it.

My limited knowledge is that Tonak provides hat bodies for several makers so this review can only apply to the Selentino.

I like the color, it is different. Looks like a fine quality hat. Good on ya!

New/vintage Know Premier love the color and ribbon combo. Needs a new sweatband. I already spoke to Art Fawcett and will be sending it in for repairs.

I can't get enough of the old felt hats compared to newer ones, they just feel authentic and better.

Oh, my sweat daughter Hannah just last night broke her collar bone but wanted to wear my hat. I got a smile out of her. That's good medicine right there.

Best guess is it was made sometime in the 60's.
Got this hat as a cheap beater to experiment with different creases. I'm thinking of doing a porkpie so the crown is more proportionate to the brim, but I kinda like the centerdent look too.
Unfourtunately the hat band is a bit loose and wrinked on one side. I'm thinking of trying to iron it, not sure though.
Probably gonna cut out the vita felt tag as well, so it doesn't get messed up when I'm fooling with the crown.
I know stingy brims don't get much love on here, and this brim is about as stingy as they come.
I'm not a big fan of stingies myself, but I'm sure this hat will get some head time, probably with more casual clothes.
The felt sure does feel nice...

Embrace the stingy my young friend. Nice looking Stetson, with lots of features of a fine hat. You are probably right about the dating. You can pull off this look. And the best thing...you are not wearing it on the back of your head like a trendy hipster. I commend you. Welcome to the Fray. Do some study on the lounge about hat maintenance. I would try some leather conditioner, like Lexol (automotive), before any more invasive techniques. What size is it?

Mossant (my first).

Just arrived yesterday from France. As the fashion there seems to be for stingy brims, when these older hats come up, they are reasonably priced.

Darkish gray with gray ribbon and binding. Looks like this is a factory blocked crease with dimple like pinch. Will leave as is, it has appealing proportions to me.

Nice felt, maybe a medium thickness/density. Fits nigh on perfectly and in great condition with no apparent damage or stains (the splotchy marks you see are due to rain).

Sweat is quite thin leather with embossed brand markings. Will put some conditioner on the leather to stop it drying out but otherwise in great condition.

Brim is 6.8cm / 2-5/8 inches
Pinch is 11 cm / 4-3/8 inches

Could not take full picture of inner label as the cork seems to be slightly stuck to it and did not want to tear it. No idea of age, 50’s?

Beautiful French piece. Love the brim. That label does look older, their typewriter skipped a little on the name. My Mossant hommie had the cork in it as well. I removed them and it fit better. Super find Christophe!
