Mossant (my first).

Just arrived yesterday from France. As the fashion there seems to be for stingy brims, when these older hats come up, they are reasonably priced.

Darkish gray with gray ribbon and binding. Looks like this is a factory blocked crease with dimple like pinch. Will leave as is, it has appealing proportions to me.

Nice felt, maybe a medium thickness/density. Fits nigh on perfectly and in great condition with no apparent damage or stains (the splotchy marks you see are due to rain).

Sweat is quite thin leather with embossed brand markings. Will put some conditioner on the leather to stop it drying out but otherwise in great condition.

Brim is 6.8cm / 2-5/8 inches
Pinch is 11 cm / 4-3/8 inches

Could not take full picture of inner label as the cork seems to be slightly stuck to it and did not want to tear it. No idea of age, 50’s?

Whilst returning home from a trip to the county seat, I got to hit a few thrift stores that I rarely get to visit. At one of them, I found a few straws in a bin full of costume hats and cheap sun hats. It was in an area away from all the other clothing and costumes, so I almost passed it by without a look. Glad I looked.
First one. Moore's California. Straw type unknown, Panama maybe? In need of some reshaping and love.

Size tag and sweat stamp. Sweat is dry and stiff, hoping Lexol helps.

And this tip sticker was barely holding on. Fell out almost immediately.

Crown a hair over 4", brim 2". 79g. Guessing 60's?
Any input is always welcome!

Didn't see any tags under the sweat, but I did see what looked like a penciled 7 1/8 on the hat body. Going to try to give it a sizing up.
Crown 4", brim 2 3/8". 86g. Guessing 50's.
Thoughts?

So, Finally got my Homero Ortega Panama today.

You be the judge.

Very nice extremely close weave.

It's much better than the pics.

Wow, you finally got it! I was afraid your customs guy was going to keep it! You look great in it, Rodolfo! I really like the wide, blue ribbon.

Embrace the stingy my young friend. Nice looking Stetson, with lots of features of a fine hat. You are probably right about the dating. You can pull off this look. And the best thing...you are not wearing it on the back of your head like a trendy hipster. I commend you. Welcome to the Fray. Do some study on the lounge about hat maintenance. I would try some leather conditioner, like Lexol (automotive), before any more invasive techniques. What size is it?

Thank you sir.
I may try some leather conditioner on the sweat. Forutnately it's not too cracked.
It's 7 3/8.

Third and last of my finds today.
This one is the heartbreaker. Not just because it is amazing, but also because it is a couple of sizes too small.
Dunlap Fifteen.

Didn't see any tags under the sweat. Here's the weave.

Other than the wonky brim and a sweatband seam that has come untaped, I see no damage. Crown 4 1/4" side, 4 1/2" front. Brim just shy of 3". 88g.
I can't find my sewing tape to get a circumference, but the head opening is 7 5/8" by 6 3/8", guessing a 7. As that will never fit I'm most likely going to put it up for trade.
If the gold-free debossment on the sweat means the same as it does on a Dobbs (both HCA products) then I'd say 40's.
As always, input welcomed.

Three great finds John. That Fifteen is a gem. A steam bath is in your future. You have the touch, wish I was so lucky.
