Nice ribbonNot exactly a new hat, but now it is like new thanks to Mike at NW Hats. A refurb and new sweat/ribbon brought this odd ball to life. A San Francisco Hatter brand, seen a few on Ebay, but seems to be a rare one. The dimensions of the hat are, 4 1/2" crown with a 2" brim.
Trying out a center dent bash to see if I like it. The crown height does not allow for much of a diamond.
Dating is an enigma...the liner tip cover is what appears to be oilskin. It is not plastic for sure, but has a "rough" feel to it.
The new burgundy ribbon treatment really changes the overall style of this one. Mike did a great job, fits like a dream now.

I dig the profile of that low crown!

Well, my hat addiction began with my wish to own 5 hats,
1.- A Panama Tardan, like my granpas, that, was my first good hat.
2.- An Indy Fedora, I have a lot now.
3.- A Pith Helmet. My first one was a real army hat wored by the uncle of a friend in WWII, she gave it to me but I never felt entitled to wear a hat with that pedigree, so it is on a display stand. Anyway I got a beautiful one and a repro of the Afrika Korps one.
4.- A Stetson Safari, like one I saw a guy wear in the 1980's in Disney World, got it last year on Ebay, had to reblock it etc, but looks great.
And
5.- Col. Kilgore's hat.... Now I have it..

That is one good lookin' hat!My new Alley Kat has arrived!!!
Pecan with 2 3/4 Brim.
Tim did an excellent job. The brim can be formed anyway and the hat is sooooo soft. Wonderful work. He put so much time into this hat, and you can tell.
This is it with a feather....
Just a wonderful hat. I couldn't be more proud.
