Any ideas as to the age would be appreciated. Would the $16.50 price predate a twenty. The construction of the hat is more in line with a 20 that I have, nicer than a 15. Guild edge, fancy little bow in back. This one has an oilskin liner in the tip.

Having just "bagged" two more on the 'bay and waiting for them to arrive...One Dunlap and a Stephen L. Stetson, In addition, I have an ancient Stetson "Setsonian" (Tawny), a Black Stetson Saxon along with my two Stetson Cowboy hats....One Black Rancher and one Chocolate Merced.

If anyone has any comments or can help me better "date" any of the hats above, please don't be shy...This is how we learn....Thanks everyone for your help and support !

Boy, you ain't kiddin'. Dan Blocker was 6'4", and weighed approximately 300 lbs.. Several years ago my wife and I paid a visit to Old Tucson studios in Arizona, and they had one of the shirts on display that Mr. Blocker wore on Bonanza--it looked like a tablecloth.

Al , Look at this Baby on the Noggin , ... Western , Anyone ? Thread ... . Dan Blocker could have been a Blocker (Right Tackle) , but I heard he was Super Kind .

I'd say mid 50s on the dark gray Disney, based on the design and back bow. I'm interested in seeing your Stetsonian. When you get a chance, if you could post some shots in The Stetsonian Institution thread, that'd be great!

Is that better than Moon Unit ? ;)

Better? I dunno. Could be Apple, or Rumer, or (shudder) Austin. Like their father said, they're last name will get them in more trouble than their first!

Trying to overcome my shyness here, but I'll throw a guess of early 1960s on your lids. GREAT lids, both, and the others you described sound like you're well on track with quality hats, Stephen.

Congrats, my friend!!
