I posted this one yesterday and after attempting an edit, I inadvertently deleted it. Apologies to moe and Joao. Thanks for the comments. I came across this and even though not my size, I've had some luck finding some 7 1/4 hats that fit. Not so with this one. It was not an OFAS find and I couldn't get measurement questions answered. I had fleeting thoughts of a stretch (insert FL members screams of NOOOOOOO) but decided against it. Always wanted a 100 anything, now I have it and someone else probably will before long. (insert Bama crying like a baby here)

I'm a 7 1/4 but will not beg for that one. Stretching it? Also I'll not be the one scream a No.
A 100? I also wished an 100 with the dimensions I seek... but not a 100% woolly

Tonak "Flexible", 58cm, Crown Open 5 1/2 inches, Brim 2 1/2 inches, some Mothing probably late 1950s. Very light weight felt that easily dry creases. This hat has a very nice form for later period. This one is from my May 2016 Czech find.

I have three new hats!

My wife (God bless her) agreed to attend an auction while I was at work. She was out in the 90-deg. heat from 9:45 until 3:00 (the hats were about the last thing sold) and she said that after all that she was buying them all no matter what the price!

She pissed off a couple of good-ol'-boys who were after the Stetson (which I told her was the lowest on my list and she ended up paying the most for).

She got them all for less than the price of a new Camp Draft.

She did buy herself a few things (a 1940s quilt, a solid cast iron frog door stop and a new ionizer), so that added to the price, but softened the blow. I've taken her to dinner and drinks at the coldest place we could can find in hopes to make up for some of her suffering on my behalf.

The Resistol appears to have not been worn. Still has the display size tag stuck in the ribbon and was still bagged and boxed. The only reference I can find to this store (Spence's Western Store) is from 1974.

Not sure what model the Stetson is or the date. Seems similar to the current Royal Flush.

The Stevens shows quite a bit of wear to the sweat (and there are salt stains in the ribbon). The store (Braithwait's) was in operation from 1896 through 1976.

Not really a middle of June kind of hat, but the price was waaaaay better out of season.

Probably won't see much head time until at least November, but nothing wrong with planning ahead a little.

Dale -- Love, love, love the Filson! I had a bucket hat from them in the same plaid. It looked really goofy on me so it went to live with my daughter. Yours I could wear! It is very similar to a hat my wife's granddad had, but is too small for me (or her).
