Picked up this Vita-felt Stetson Three Way at an antique show yesterday for $65.

Took a chance on this. It's a Fred E. Weakley. Anyone heard of that brand?
It's got a 5 1/2 inch open crown, 2 3/8 brim with an overwelt, 1 3/4 ribbon. The felt is thick.
Oh, and it has several moth nibbles, although they aren't readily noticeable.

This is my latest Czech find. There are 20 hats (Brüder Böhm, J.Hückel´s Söhne, TONAK, Janyška) and 4 hat holders (Anton Peschel Neutitschein, Brüder Böhm,, Janyška). All of the hats are NOS open crown and range from the later 1930s to late 1950s. Including a couple rare Brüder Böhm Soft Felt Wool hats and a Brüder Böhm hat holder.

Definitely drool-worthy.

Janyška, 58cm, Crown Open 5 1/2 inches, Brim 2 inches, NOS condition, probably late 1930s early 1940s. The felt is really nice (light weight) and easily dry creases. Also like that it doesn't have a liner which is less common for this style hat. Overall great form! Janyška & Cie. (located in Valašské Meziříčí – Krásno about 25 km from Nový Jičín) were unusual because the company was founded in the 1920s and owned by a Czech. The historic hat companies (JHS, AP,BB) in Neustitschein / Nový Jičín were Austrian / German owned and founded in the mid 19th Century. This one is from my latest Czech find.

Tonak "Jubilant", size 59cm, Crown Open 5 1/2 inches, Brim 2 3/8 inches, NOS condition, 1959. Made for 160 Year Anniversary but 145 years of it was JHS. This hat has a really great form (looks late 1930s) for later hat. The felt is fantastic and easily dry creases. This one is from my latest Czech find.

Kind of. The ribbon sits in front of my ear, but I didn't deliberately turn it. I could have turned it more to distort the brim, but I didn't want the ribbon to come too far forward. So it does have a little turn in it, but it's not as extreme as the Raiders turn is. I wanted to wear it where it feels most comfortable, but at the same time I do like having the ribbon closer to the front of my face and visible, so it's in the perfect position to achieve that. Sorry, I'm not sure if that's answered your question.

If the hat isn't broken in yet, and/or conformed to the head, size-wise, a turn will not have much affect on the brim. Let the hat shrink down to fit you properly-snuggly, and a turn will manifest a distorted brim.

The Indy fedora was turned so that the center of the bow was above the sideburn just in front of the left ear.

Came in a little dirty and some minor moth nibbles and some staining around the hat band line. A bath got rid of the dirtiness but the stain remains. Nothing that won't be covered by the new band or ribbon, as soon as I figure out what I want to put on it and determine how the hat wants to be shaped.

That's the band that came on it and you can see the hole where the RV pin was stuck through it. Don't know if he was an RV enthusiast or a Romeo Void fan.

Thanks, vic. I've read stories about them and have seen some of those autographed hats pop up for sale, from time to time. I just didn't put the two together on this one. The name L. Wulsin is written on the sweat, mean anything to you?
