Moe ! That baby is Fine !!! Beautiful Hat , Hommie , or whatever ! ... Y'all are a bad influence ... But modern don't normally seem as nice as vintage and my noggin has a hard time finding a size that fits . Whew ! Stifles the persute being next to impossible . Killer Hommie Moe !

Janyška, 58cm, Crown Open 5 1/2 inches, Brim 2 inches, NOS condition, probably late 1930s early 1940s. The felt is really nice (light weight) and easily dry creases. Also like that it doesn't have a liner which is less common for this style hat. Overall great form! Janyška & Cie. (located in Valašské Meziříčí – Krásno about 25 km from Nový Jičín) were unusual because the company was founded in the 1920s and owned by a Czech. The historic hat companies (JHS, AP,BB) in Neustitschein / Nový Jičín were Austrian / German owned and founded in the mid 19th Century. This one is from my latest Czech find.

I just received this 1950s (??) Bandera 5X beaver western hat. I have found Bandera hats to be of excellent quality, and certainly on-par with Resistols of the same vintage. Very little info available about the Bandera Hat Co., other than they were located in Fort Worth - they were around in the 1950s and the last reference to them I have seen is in 1969.

The hat is black and has an approx. 6” open crown and approx. 2.75-3” brim. I have owned several Bandera hats over the years, but my previous ones were a 7-3/8 (or smaller) and never quite fit right – this is a 7-1/2 and fits like it was made for me.

I had planned to use this as a project hat, but is so nice I will probably clean it, change the RCA crease, and otherwise leave it as-is. What is unusual about the hat, and very different from my previous Banderas, is the brim. It is a raw edge, but slightly turned up all the way around (not enough to be curled, just up-turned about a ¼”) and it is stiff as a board – it is almost a double-thickness (like some campaign hat brims – or a derby, only much thicker). The crown is very soft and shapeable.

Tonak "Superflex", 59cm, NOS but has mothing, probably late 1950s. Came Open Crown (Open) 5 1/2 inches, 2 1/2 inch brim, dry creased. Very light weight felt and nice form for later time period. This one is from my recent Czech find.

Robert that looks like a Nice One . I seem to recall Bandera , but ... I could be dreaming . Who knows , but it looks like its in Great Condition , Nice Hat .

That looks like the hat I've been searching for. What a beauty!

Just got this beautiful fedora from Tim at Cane rod makers. It's black cherry with a steel brown ribbon. Love this hat. I'll wear it to a gig this week.

Then I took out of the bottom of the box another PB'S hemp hat, now in,a volor they call natural, a very light beige, I would say close to some Silverbellys, real nice workmanship again.

This one is a centerdent that wont get closer to the top of my head due to the tall or full crown.

Also perfect fit with a high quality leather sweatband, I irdered this one with a white pug, @Bob Roberts, a nice combo makes it for a very elegant but also not so formal hat.

The whole hat plus puggaree image makes this hat worth of a 1800's british landlord in Kenya, makes me want to go buy a Land Rover Defender.

Also very, very happy with the hat, i put it in my head and has been there all day long.

It was missing the sticky back PB'S logo, I told them about it and they were happy to mail a couple for me.

Also a real nice high quality hat.

TONAK Nový Jičín "Standard" with Back Bow, size 58cm, NOS condition, probably late 1940s early 1950s (former JHS main factory). The crown is 6 inches open with a 2 1/2 inch swooping brim. This one is from my latest Czech find.

Janyška "Praga", 58cm, Crown Open 5 1/2 inches, Brim 2 inches, NOS condition with some mothing, probably late 1930s early 1940s. The felt has more of a Chamois finish in a great blue color (will look better in natural light). Also has an interesting shortened sweatband (also color coordinated) and no liner so wears light. I really like this one!
