Been trying to refrain from purchasing as of late, but came across a stack of old fedoras that seemed to belong to the same guy. They were dirty, stained, motheaten, but two felt good on the head and had a certain appeal to me. Besides, I was in the mood to play with some. So I bought them.

Nice one! Penney's (or Lee) made a good hat, got the same one;

I got mine on the cheap too but probably not as good a deal as yours

Rick, that thing is awesome! The best part is that it's your size. Very interesting story, and you are right, the liner is super cool. You should post that on the "Lovely Liners" thread. It looks to be Silverbelly, or is it a very light grey? How is the felt? Stiff, or soft? Inquiring minds.... :)

Interestingly enough, my grandfather had a Rotocycle. It wasn't much to look at, but ti made a fabulously creepy noise. :p

Thanks everyone for all of the nice comments! It is a pretty cool hat. Could definitely use a cleaning, but I'm keeping it as is for the time being.

Mike, thanks for the info on Samuel Maverick. I really had no idea where that came from.

Harv, the felt is really soft and pliable, but the brim is a bit stiffer. I would say it is silver belly, but on the tan side for sure. Will definitely post the liner in the Lovely Liners thread!

As a side note, The Perry Company is still in business in Waco, but now just sells pickup truck accessories as far as I know.

Received my Stetsonian a few weeks ago from DelMonico. I think I have my standard diamond crease set.

Stetson 3x 7 3/8 Couple of scuffs no MB Felt is perfect. Color looks very gray in pictures but has blue hue to it. Used to wear 7 1/4 but the 7 3/8 seems a bit better. The thin ribbon is awesome. Stetson knew how to make a hat. I think the last drop liner is a bit rarer with the 3x marking. Was never blocked. Took a while to figure out how to resize pics and load them, very rusty. This is one of the best forums on the net.

Well the Biltmore I got from Joshua finally arrived.
A very different felt from all my other hats and nice how it can capture colors. I'm pleased but I have to do something to that up brim.
Even being marked as a 7 1/8, it fits perfectly!

Joao wear that spectacular Canadian Biltmore in good health (avoid becoming addicted to those Reese treats)!
