My newest hat. A dark chocolate Knox 20, 2 1/2" cavanagh edge brim, 4 3/4" crown height as creased with the diamond crease. 22 ligne dark brown ribbon. The felt is not particularly thin but very soft and take a crease easily.

Stetson 3X "Tijuana" suede finish

Styling after the Dobbs Gay Prince with subtle differences - softer felt, decorative holes spaced wider apart and further from the brim edge makes for a slightly bolder statement. 2 3/4" brim. Late 40s - early 50s seems like a good guess, depending on your perspective on beaver posture.

My new Stetson Saxon. I was wondering if I was going to get a chance to wear it this season with the warm weather we have been having, but it was a nice 52 degrees this morning. I am getting used to a short brim. All my other fedoras and straws have a 2 1/2 inch or wider brim. Now with warmer weather coming I have my eye on a nice milan with a 2 1/4 " brim.

Alan: I love the self ribbon on that Stetson!
Kirk: Always nice to see another Saxon! My first hat was a brown Saxon. Does yours have the vinyl or leather sweatband?

Pulled this out of a vintage clothing store my wife was looking through:

Mallory, of unknown age (I posted a couple more pics in the Mallory mile thread if you are good with these)

Either way, super happy with this for the 30 ish bux I paid.

(I'll try and grab a shot with me in it tomorrow)

I've been pining for decent Milan. Finally found one on 50% off day at a local Goodwill! It's a flawless tan coloured Biltmore with a 2 1/2 inch brim, a brown leather sweat and a brown pug. It's a bit big for me but some padding should remedy that. The brim was a bit wonky due to poor storage and I just finished steaming and working the brim back to it's original glory. Tough to argue with the $2.50 price tag! C'mon summer!

Thinking about replacing the pug with a grosgrain ribbon.

Kenilworth straw boater

An auction hat that no one wanted... sometimes I have to adopt these strays. Rather nice, rustic straw in good condition and a good fit as well. The ribbon is tall - a touch off the golden ratio to my eye. I have a Dobbs milan ribbon that has been looking for a home... hmmmm.

Interesting find, I've never seen one like this. A new ribbon may do wonders for the hat, as I believe that this ribbon is too tall. Good find and just in time for summer.
