Beautiful hats as always Rodkins. The color of the St. Regis is awesome.
I've been thinking about the Homberg style lately and wondering if it would suit me. I'll have to find one in a local shop to try on and see if it is a style I can wear.

Looking forward to a noggin shot of yours.

Cheers
DD

Ale, I want to go to garage sales like that!

Mike, I'm eager to see that hommie in action. You never know, it just might be your new favorite look. And very nice Playboy. [I just bought the one on Etsy with its missing liner, glued in (sort of) crown sticker, and glue residue around said sticker. Not nearly as nice, and maybe too tight on me, but at least he came down on the price.]

This afternoon is cold and clammy here, so I'm giving my weird recent purchase some noggin time. It's a Canadian military hat, I guess, and says inside, on a sewn-in tag beneath oilcloth: Eastern - Cap, Peaked, Winter - 1956 Size 7 1/2 It has a fold-down ear-warmer flap, too. The leather strap across the front is expandable and, I presume, can be used as a chin strap.

Thanks. That is a cool hat!

Finally I got my studio lights, some time away from the paintbrushes to post a couple of hats that I wanted to photograph and share. I got this beautiful Stetson Belmont, similar in design to one that Alan posted a few weeks back, and I'm loving it. The sweat is fragile, with some superficial cracks but wearable still. Here we go.

This is how it came: Liner was loose.

After stretching it to my size, then block and flange:

Not exactly "new hat" since it's still in the making but I still wanted to share these pics with you all.

This is my third hat and second bespoke hat. As you can see, it's a black homburg. Some modifications still have to be done before it's finished. Dimple (is that the right word?) on the crown will be shaped to be deeper and more like a line than an oval. Crown will be flattened but the edge will have that ribbon and curve that homburgs always have.

I'll post some better pictures of it when I get it home before Christmas.
