Came with the Whippet. Not to be confused with a Railbird.

Fausto Mutinelli

Very nice Homburg from the 1960s. It measures about 59cm. Here is a note from Matteo Mutinelli regarding the hat.

"
I received photos of your Homburg hat. After a careful consideration of it, I can say that your hat has been produced in the sixties. The lining is marked "Fausto", the name of the hat shop founder and the line has been produced by Dante Mutinelli, founder's son and my grandfather, died at the end of the sixties.
We have yet today in our shop hat similar to your Homburg in wool and rabbit felt.
Greetings and best reguards,

Matteo Mutinelli"

Mayser Panama

This is size 58c modern Mayser Panama that I picked up in Hut Neusbarth Augsburg. I really liked the ribbon treatment and overall look of this one. Probably sourced from Dorfzaun.

Great Mutunelli! I met Matteo and Maurizio while I was in Milano last May. He's a great guy with lots of knowledge.
I think I posted a picture of him on my thread "hat shops I visited in Italy" nice find, man!

I found it Matteo and Maurizio (in his late 70s I believe...) to the left helping a client on the right.

Oh Yea- New Hat!

Good day folks. I wished to share a pic of my new Stetson Playboy(color is a very subtle fawn brown shade). Absolutely a grand hat. It is light, supple, and a joy to wear. This morning at a meeting, I barely noticed that I had it on and had to remind myself after introductions to take it off. In today's 30+ mile an hour gusty winds it stays put like a true champ. No need to use the wind cord, at least so far.

As to bash - natural. Just an easy push on top and a squeeze on the sides. The tag in the worn box shows the retail price to be $15.00. I need a "Way Back Machine!"

As a reference, here is a pic of my first hat;
