This one was actually sent from within the USA. Seems to be a Beaver felt in extraordinary condition for its age.

That is a thing of beauty. Every man should have such a bowler in their repetoire! Very nice!

Nifty looking bowler there Robert. You know I was wondering who you reminded me of because you looked familiar. Then when watching the movie 2010 this morning it hit me, Latvian actor Elya Baskin, but with darker hair. :) Any relation?

Hmmm!I live in Latvia, but didnt hear about that actor.:)

In short, he was born in Riga, attended Moscow's prestigious Theatre and Variety Arts College and won a Festival of Young Actors Award at the Moscow Comedy Theatre and then had immigrated to the U.S. in 1976. :) He has been acting in the U.S. since then. I think that the first movie I had ever seen him in was Raise the Titanic (1980). Made a good career out of being a character actor.

Sorr, didn't mean to derail this thread. Now, back to our regular programming.:D

Cheers!

I'm drooling over this velour but struggling to steam out the line made from telescoping the crown to fit the shorter box. Condition is amazing.

I believe the liner starts early/mid 50's and lasts into 60's. The hat is probably mid 50's beginning of brim reduction(just under 2-3/8").

I had a feeling this one was going to be amazing. In my opinion JHS made the finest velours. Sorry for the repeat photos but it deserves it!

I'm drooling too!!! Holly crap, that hat is just amazing in every way. The felt looks to be of the highest quality, and I love the liner with the very subtle black print on silk. I think thats how all liners should be done. It give a very high class look and feel to the hat. WELL DONE!!!!:eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap
