Got these 2 today. Both are marked as Mainliner models and they are close to identical except for the ribbons and the color of one marking on the sweatband. I'll put more pics in the Adam thread.

Light to medium brown, size 58cm and near new condition. Sweatband date stamped 12/27/58. Hut Seidl Munich had a direct relationship with Mayser so this is some type of custom model. This is my new first place Homburg. More details in the German - Austrian thread.

NOS with paper protective liner still inside. One small issue--the seller mistook the 3 for an 8. Its a size 53-not a 58. Any one with a child looking for a cap?

I'm not sure I'd consider this a new hat . I picked it up from the bay last March. It was on hold for a while and then sent to the creasemeister for his magic. I haven't posted it for you all to see, so I thought it would be a good one to celebrate post number 3000.

I really love Whippets. I think they have the perfect proportions to suit my square head.

Thanks, Jimmy! I love what you've done with this one and all of them.

I agree that Whippets (in general) do seem to suit you, BobC. And it's a good thing that you got your little family together before the madness hit.

Went to Delmonico's Hatters (only 5 miles from my house) yesterday to drop off a hat to be reblocked and well I can't leave without a new hat. This one was on the clearance rack. Since I am a Bagpiper I can't pass up anything plaid. They validate parking so it only really cost me $20.00. The Stick Pin is for the Pipe Band that I am Pipe Major of.

Buler, it's interesting how just changing the ribbon width can change the whole character of the hat.

1950's Burton-Taylor Brown Fedora

I just got this one from ebay yesterday. I love this hat. The felt is EXTREMELY soft and smooth like silk. The hat is in excellent shape. The hat maker used very little, if any, stiffener in the felt, so its very tough for the hat to keep a crease. I did the best I could with a center dent. That's probably also due to the fact that the felt is VERY light weight. This is most definitely a summer hat. The actually weight is very light and the thickness is very light as well. Its a very well made and high end hat. Ive never heard of the maker but one word on the sweatband made me think that possibly the hat was a private label made my Mallory. The sweatband says "Cravenette," and I know this was usually associated with Mallory. Could be just a coincidence though. Heres some pics:
