Beaver Brand white western derby. It’s going to be interesting to see if I can make this stiff but extremely comfortable 6.5” crown hat into something more to my liking. When I’m done I’ll post my observations in the Beaver Brand thread.

Very nice hat you've got, but what does that Tom n' Jerry mean? :)
It's just the model of Knox hat. I think it referred to guys who were regulars in bars - or maybe guys that were up to shenanigans in bars.
It's also a drink consisting of a toddy and eggnog.

That's a great hat-- it might be the companion to my 5X Beaver Brand in Sand. In my experience the hat was begging to be creased, though I tried to resist for several months. ;)

Not a new hat, but a new accessory: My wife and kids surprised me with this beaded hat band as a birthday gift yesterday. I think it's really beautiful. I must have tried it on each one of my hats, and I think it has come down to these two (or else I might just have to get a custom made to match the band!):

Factory stamp also says Foreman & Clark. It was a large Dept. Store chain. Ribbon is Pumpkin and Rust on a Milk Chocolate rather light and limp felt.

I wondered who got that one...interesting hat but I have to say it looks good on.

That Porkpie is an interesting study in color, RLK. Pretty sharp!

Mike, that Tom 'n Jerry looks like it was custom made for you. One very elegant lid!

I'm VERY interested to see what kind of conversion you're going to do with this one. When I converted my blue resistol, it had a very tall, straight and stiff crown like that hat. I was actually contemplating ordering a tall derby in white from beaver brand as well. If I may make a recommendation in trying to shape a stiff crown like this. I would assume that the felt is fairly substantial and not thin, so you have to use a TON of steam when shaping the crown, and don't forget that due to the fact that there is a good amount of shellac in the crown, once you steam it, it will want to harden very quickly when its off the steam. No matter what crease your going for, always set your center dent line first just to give a good starting point. Just my 2 cents.

Hey B'Man, I neglected to mention in my first post, happy belated birthday, and that beaded hatband is VERY nice. I couldn't decide which hat it complemented better. A beautiful accessory and a lovely gift!
