My wife and I are spending a lot of time driving or riding our scooter around local townships. Without traveling any further than 45 minutes from home, we're finding all sorts of interesting places. Today, we were in Copley Township, only about 20 minutes from home, and stopped at the 2 antique shops in town. Between the two shops, there were two men's hats, one of which was a mail carrier's cap in size 6 3/4. I picked up the other one, a Stetson Casual, for $15 plus tax. It's not in tip top shape but, for the price, it was a deal.
The liner was barely hanging on by a stitch, so I just took it out. I've tried brushing the hat, but that ring from storage won't come out. The sweat is coming a bit apart from the hat in the front as well. I'm thinking of sending this one off to Optimo with my other two finds, but I've got two questions. First, will that storage ring come out? Second, The separation of the sweat from the hat is minimal, so do you think that it will survive a clean and block, or will a new sweat be necessary? Of course, I'd like to keep the original in there.
