That is one of the sweetest looking Straws I've seen in a long time, I envy you pal.

Thanks, Bolt. Glad you like it. No need to envy though. Panama Bob can fix you right up. ;) ;)

Christmas in August!
I knew the PanamaBob hats were coming but the AB was a complete surprise.

GWD, I really need to get a hat from Johnnyphi. He is in my area, I should see if I could meet him and take a look at his collection in person. :)
That's a really nice Schoble Warburton. :eusa_clap

Just got back from a dig near Jerusalem, to which I brought my brand-new Adventurebilt Crystal Skull (although I had a different, ventilated work hat for digging).

Many thanks to Rick Blane [and a nudge from Harp Player Gene] I just won this Dobbs West. Notice the neat horseshoe pin above the bow.
I will be sure to post more when it arrives!

Skimmer

I posted this over in the Boater Faction thread, but I thought I'd stick it here too. My one issue is the very small brim, slightly less than 1 3/4 inches. According to one of the posts over there, a boater has a 3 inch brim and a skimmer has a 2 inch. I'm afraid this is just too little brim for my jowly face. Waddaya think?

I think it looks great on you honestly, although if it were a 7 1/8 it would look all wrong and I would do you the favor and take it off your hands.

Keep it, it looks Great! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

OK, here's a hat I picked up in Memphis during the recent event there. Goldsmith's, I learned, was a well known men's store in town that had a long run in business but is now closed. I picked it up at a great little antique shop named Tut-Uncommon.

This hat is very, VERY like one of my Dobb's hats (that one being grey though), to the point that I'm sure that's who made it for their private label.

This one is a beautiful shade of deep purple-ish, burgundy/brown with an almost black ribbon. It has what Dobb's would call the "Guild Edge". In great shape except for the flaky reeding.

A much better souvenir, to my taste, than an Elvis clock from Beale Street. :)

Nice one D-. 1 3/4" you say? This must be a new sub-section of boater. Stingy boater perhaps..
Cock that hat at an extreme angle and it works fine.

I have contemplated getting one but have little opportunity to wear it. [huh]
