I had to get a Rio Plata from Panama Bob to add to my new collection. It arrived yesterday and looked like this out of the box.

After a little steam I got it this far...

I'm still too self-conscious with the up-turned brim. Maybe I can wear that look one day. I think the shirt is just a Banana Republic, but I do like to wear it with my panamas. Thanks for the feedback.

as I mentioned in the ebay thread, I won this nice Resistol stingy brim....

I didn't notice in the auction pictures that it had a Cavanaugh edge, so that was a nice surprise when I opened the box. The pin is in the shape of a pipe (for some strange reason).

The price tag inside says $17.50, which is, coincidentally, just about what I bid on it!

Can anyone give an approximate date on this one? The seller thought maybe it was 50's.
