I have been trying to find a Twenty Five for a reasonable price, and now I can check that box.

I gave it a quick dust-off brushing before quarantine in the deep freeze, but it will need some more work. There are some minor stains, and a LOT of steam will be required to get rid of the cattleman’s crease, but the felt is flawless otherwise, and the sweat is soft and pliable. This may be the one that forces me to try my hand at a naphtha bath.

Posted the backstory of the retailer last week, but finally came around the hat hat itself.

Super Panizza in a grey colour called lampo (lightning). Size 56 with the raw edge brim at 7cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. Fairly sturdy felt that seems set in its ways, but can be convinced with some steam. Nice hand on it though. The liner is very nice as well. Very happy with this one.

1982 Shudde Bros Beaver Supreme. 3 1/2 inch brim, about 5 3/4 inch open crown. Probably the dirtiest hat I've ever bought. This was a curiosity purchase as much as anything. I had no idea when Shudde used the Beaver Supreme name, but guessed this hat was at least 1960's or after because of the fake little belt-type plastic hatband, which to me is an insult to a hat of this supposed quality. Turns out the sweatband has a date handwritten on it. The felt seems good for a 80's hat. Can judge better after the hat is cleaned.

Very nice! That's what I call a jackpot hat.
Thank you! Couldn't disagree.
Among the very best vintage Westerns to ever turn up & appear on the FL, BB. Especially in a size >7-1/8. Very nice!
Thanks, HJ. It's a style I've long admired and to find it in an old Stetson is special to me, especially in this condition and Size!
What a find, Greg!
Thank you.
Wowza, Greg!!!!
Much appreciated Charlie and even better to hear from you!
