Mid 1950s Stetson Royal DeLuxe in size 7 1/4. The overwelt brim is 2 1/2” wide and the open crown is 5 5/8” tall. Great felt, but with some discoloration all around the crown near the ribbon. This discoloration came off with water, but I’m afraid to clean it thoroughly as the dry rotted sweatband is sure to disintegrate…the sweatband is toast and needs to be replaced (pity).

This hat is worth the effort to have it restored if anyone wants to take on the project.

This was an eBay impulse purchase - something I rarely do. I just liked the colors and the price was very cheap. I ordered it with BIN before I really even knew anything about the hat or company. It’s made in Canada for Salmagundi Boston, and I believe it is all rabbit fur. I still don’t know much about it but after checking out their website they seem to be legit. It arrived today and it’s not bad at all. The brim is a little stingier (1 1/2”) than I was expecting, but I’m gonna wear it around a bit and see how I like it. It’s a generous 7 3/8 long oval and fits great. The crease and pinch are pretty stiff but I like the shape OK so I’m probably not going to mess with it. The brim was a little misshapen but some steam took care of that. I’ve tried it snapped both up and down, and I think it suits me either way.

I’m not a big fan of brown hats generally but the orangish ribbon on this Adam Majestic sold me. Unfortunately the sweat was rotted so I sent to Scott Dalsbo for a cleaning and a new sweatband and he then broke it to me that the ribbon didn’t survive the process. He had an almost perfect match replacement, however, and this thing is now beautiful. Generously proportioned with a 2 5/8 brim and 5 3/4 open crown. Also love the detail of the the overwelt brim. Ready for autumn!

As someone who is not really a fan of stingy brims, I must say -- the hat looks fabulous on you - you totally have the right face shape.

(and I love the ribbon!)

Two brown beauties. Both hats suit each of you quite well.

Beautiful hat, David. Easy to see why the ribbon and felt combination attracted you.

Second one (I'll save the best ones for last).

Fléchet unlined fedora in black. Size 57 (and not 60 as advertised) with the raw edge brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 10cm at the center dent. This one has an excellent hand to the felt and has an unusual bow style. Sort of a loose and tilted backbow, but on the side. Judging by the lettering on the sweatband this is an early Fléchet.
