Yes, that silver gray (on my screen) looks very rich, indeed!

St. Veit (Sankt Veit), 58 cm, Wool Felt, possibly early 1930s. There isn't a company mark but the paper label has a Sheep with a St. Veit Banner. Sankt Veit an der Glan Schafrasse is a small town in the South East corner of Austria and I couldn't find any Felt Hat production in the town. My guess is this is the source of the Wool used for the Felt. The Stiff Felt Hat was sold by a shop (Ludovikus Hagens Wwe) in a small town (Lustenau, Vorarlberg) in the upper North West corner of Austria. The Wool Felt has a nice finish and is in very good condition. The Stiff Felt has great looking Silver Gray Liner with a sharp looking Bow design.

Handwriting on the Sweatband which I will have to take a closer look at.

That liner is beautiful

I took a gamble on a Dobbs on the local market a couple of days ago and got home from work to find it already here.
The seller didn’t know anything about it and neither did I, but it was fairly cheap, so I got it.
It’s a bit battered, but no moth bites or damage on the felt. A very slight musty smell that I would expect to disappear with a bit of airing. The ribbon is quite nice, but creased in places and there’s a bit of…something showing at the bottom rear of the bow.
The name on the sweatband is Golden Coach. It says Steve Harvey on the lining. A quick search tells me that he is an entertainer born in 1957, so it’s clearly not particularly old, maybe 90’s? 00’s?
I found a Steve Harvey hats thread on the lounge - they don’t get much love, but the only one who owns any seems pretty happy with them.
For myself, I can see myself wearing it - maybe as a work hat (I don’t wear my best hats to work) or as a beater, depending on how well I can clean it up.

Update: If I’m being completely honest, I’m already regretting this purchase. I gave it a steam and some brushing. Also decided the shape wasn’t going to work as the deep crease was hitting the top of my head. I popped it out to open crown and redid the crease and pinches. Still not happy, I got rid of the pinches altogether. Definitely an improvement and I can wear it comfortably enough - actually quite a nice fit and off the top of my head.
The thumbnail photo is the reshaped hat.

Moral of the story: do some homework before purchasing.

Early 70s 3 x Beaver Stetson, 20210921_181436.jpg 20210921_181536.jpg bought in Texas in 1973 according to the seller. No label under the sweat unfortunately.
3 inch raw edge brim and approximately 4.5 inch crown hight. "Interesting" 70s belt ribbon with a nice touch of blue. Wonderful chocolate brown colour to the quite stiff felt.
A quarter of a size too large, but fits well with some cork strips under the sweat.
Not my usual style, but I like it, especially the telescope crease. 20210921_181311.jpg 20210921_181419.jpg 20210921_181614.jpg
