Garrett, Thank you! The Mirror insert is the greatest!Fantastic, Steve. Bob is currently replicating your mirror insert into a vintage bowler body. Will post those results soon as it’s finished.

I think you've gone and done it to yourself--you've been wearing wider brimmed hats for so long now that a "normal" Fedora brim width seems like a "stingy" to you.A very generous @Randall Renshaw agreed to make a trade with me and I ended up with this...I will say that while I’m not looking to take the crown from @Joao Encarnado or @Yahoody , I’ve found that these more modest sized hats look a lot better on my hat rack than on my head. I’m giving it some time, but this hat might be looking for a new home as it just feels small on me; not the 7 5/8 which is true-to-size, but just the whole hat...

I only hope out horse trading was fair for Randall. He’s generous to a fault and I had to throw in a second hat to assuage my conscience.

Brent what color is this hat? It kind of looks like a Silverbelly in some pictures but a light grey in another. I’m sure it’s the lighting. If you decide to part with it keep us big headed fellas in mind.
Steven
Have we seen this one in the Borsalino Brotherhood thread yet? Please post it there as well (with its label), Brent if it hasn't been posted there before. I can see what you mean about the proportions. Some of these hats, no matter how nice, just look like little hats once you wear them and just look "off". I have a few of those myself; nothing you can do.A very generous @Randall Renshaw agreed to make a trade with me and I ended up with this:

Great find, Steve. Especially nice that the cloth crown patch is preserved. These usually get lost over time. Wonderful survivor.Heinrich Balke Bremen "Prima Weser Hut", 58 cm, Crown Open 6 inches, Brim 3 inches, possibly late 1920s. This a Wool Soft Felt Hat with Back Bow and luckily the Crown Tip Patch is still present. I really like finding old Wool Soft Felts and I waited a long time for this one to arrive because of shipping issues.

Heinrich Balke Bremen was a hat whole seller but I wasn't able to find anything regarding production facilities. Weser is a river that flows into Bremen and "Weser Hut" is trademarked. I have a very unique Heinrich Balke Bremen Wool Stiff Felt "Prima Weser Hut" with a Mirror inset into the liner logo.

Champ Long Hair Black Heather
4 7/8 Crown as shaped
3/4 silver grosgrain mid ribbon
2 inch under welt brim
This medium/long hair black heather Champ came to me in a care package from our lounge friend Randy @Rmccamey It is an unusual but beautiful very soft and petable black felt with hints of white, blue, green, yellow and red heathered into the mix. Randy had Rick at Phoenix hats replace the ribbon with this silver mid ribbon. I think it was an excellent choice as it really makes it pop. Thank you to Randy for this Very cool hat.

Thank you Randy. It is a very cool hat. Much appreciatedLooks great, Joe.
It has found the right home, Steve. I'm sure you can bring it back to glory with some TLC.S. & J. Fraenkel Wien, Ebreichsdorfer Filzhutfabrik / Extra Extra Wiener "Wiener Extra Velour", measures ~ 58cm, possibly early 1930s. I would like thank Brent for offering this great pre 1940 Austrian Velour to me. I hit it with a lot of heavy steam and the stiffness came back. The thick Metal Gray Velour is really fantastic but I will have to work with it more to get a smoother finish. The offset bow is a unique feature. I think it was probably worn brim up as shown because of the over welt. I only knew this Velour was made by "S. & J. Fraenkel Wien, Ebreichsdorfer Filzhutfabrik" by the paper label. Exported to the Italian market so it's good know that they used "Wiener Hutindustrie" for future reference.
