Borsalino size 6 or 7 3/8 US but it is less wide, so more a 58 7 1/4
There is no paper label because it was cleaned too much by the shop where it was purchased and it lost the Borsalino data

It is part of a Borsalino lot I decided to restore in the Penumbra hats atelier - Netherlands. I was intrigued by the very rare color of the felt. It was cleaned and repounced to give back the original color of the felt and the result is fantastic

It was made, from the seller indications in the late seventies, early eighties.

The measurements are: brim at 5,5 cm. crown at 10 cm. Plain felt and very malleable and light in a color that could be “Miele” or "Albino"
Ribbon is the original

The interior is completely clean and ready to serve again.
A Borsalino as new in a wonderful color after some excellent work made by Fleur

Monticristi? I don't know, what does that really mean.
That's part of the Eddie Bauer patented "Whirlwind Cooling" effect. No extra charge.Mine is blocked so that the vent holes are not in the same spot on the sides. Yours looks like it might be similar. Dang 1970s quality control...
My apologies, I was just making a sarcastic comment. Hatters throw around the term Montichristi and there really is no hard definition as to what fino, sub fino, etc, really means. Brent Blacks website states it is all very subjective. The weave of the hat in regards to how fine it is and it's woven in that region of Ecuador. That looks to be a fine candidate for a conversion if the straw is intact.
Looks good Brent! Mine is blocked so that the vent holes are not in the same spot on the sides. Yours looks like it might be similar. Dang 1970s quality control...
That's such a super looking hat, Brent. Love the colour and contrasting ribbon and bow. Very eye catching indeed.Agnoulita in 100% hare fur felt:

This one can truly be said to have travelled over half the globe.
It started life in Australia, had a brief sojourn in Texas, and has now ended up in Denmark.
I don't usually buy new hats, but when Ken put this one up for sale, I couldn't resist.
Akubra Heritage Collection Federation Deluxe IV.
I've never had a virgin hat before, but I really liked the idea of being able to create my own bash from scratch.
The felt is still very stiff, so it still needs some more shaping work along with more steam. The brim especially. However, I'm quite pleased with the results so far.
Thanks Ken for taking the extra time to have this shipped to Dk.

DH, these photos are really well done. It's nice to see anyone take this much care with what they're doing. Colors, light, setting - perfect. Cheers.Stetson Derringer:
