Sears Pilgrim OR clone. I contacted the seller about other places in the hat to find the size, then made an offer 30% off her price because the sweat was beginning to come loose.

Almost every remaining stitch popped when ai put it on, but it was all thread failing. The leather is great.

I'm waiting for a 1940s Strat now, tagged my size, but the seller didnt want to sell it to me because he thought it had shrunk too much. That itself was a refreshing reversal! He took $65, maybe feeling sorry for a fool, on a no return basis.
The Pilgrim will give me shade to lick my wounds if I have to.

Wow, a great one, DD. I'm only about 40 miles from Cross Plains and I go through town often and have all my life. If you ever get a notion to "send that one home", please let me know. Not my size, but it would be a great conversation starter around here.

Other Cross Plains factoids:

The pulp fiction author Robert E. Howard, creator of the character Conan the Barbarian among others, lived in Cross Plains from the age of 13 in 1919 until his death in 1936. His former home in Cross Plains is now a museum. Every year, Cross Plains holds the Robert E. Howard Days and a Barbarian Festival on the second weekend of June.

If you are a Harley rider you probably know of Rick Fairless and Stroker's Dallas. Rick was raised around Cross Plains and his dad still lives there...or at least he did a few years back when I last talked to him.
Thanks! I recently read about Robert E. Howard, Jack had known him for years. Jack's son in law, Lynn Nabers was on the Texas state legislature for 14 years. His daughter was Texas Railroad commissioner. I appreciate hearing from you about the area. Funny how you can learn so much from a hat!

My wife usually doesn’t either. With her it’s shoes period, I don’t have enough space to own as many hats as she does shoes. But she was right to reign me in a little..I didn’t realize how much I had spent till she brought it to my attention. Wasn’t just hats..Navajo sand-cast buckle, malachite bracelet...but plenty of hats with more still to arrive. I’ve got to try to beat her home every day this week to take care of the evidence after they’re delivered.
My story is more like yours!

Tapatalk dropped twice on me after I wrote about this Champ.
I like this hat, have had it a couple of weeks, but just discovered it because the size, 7, put me off at the beginning.
There's more to the story, but I'm too irritated to write it again.

I’ve never had a problem with Tapatalk. I’ve never lost any text or had any problem posting. Your regular problems have me scratching my head.
Nice Champ anyway.

It happens to me quite a bit. Do you pay for premium? I'm using the free one with ads. Maybe it's a setting in my 'droid that I have for battery conservation. I don't know!
I do know that on my laptop, if my battery dies, I miss-key something and exit the Lounge mid post, my draft is still there. When I get the "tapatalk is no longer connected" message, what I wrote is gone after I click reconnect.

It just occurred to me that it may always happen when I'm adding images. I'll have to watch for that to confirm.
