Brent straw. Nice ventilation holes all around. Under sweat is a Montgomery Ward price tag of $1.95

Mallory Ten Pliafelt with an interesting reverse bound edge treatment. OPS tag puts it between 51 and 53.

This Pliafelt is the greatest felt I've ever handled, even moreso than say my OPS Strat. It's very stiff yet creases like clay. The best word I can come up with is it's extremely "crisp."

That's a tasty little number. Good get. I'm a big Mallory fan.

Another confession:

I bought a Demon Hanover for the liner, because moths had a field day with the felt. When Juan Carlos brought it over it was even worse than in the seller's pictures. I had never seen moth holes that went all the way through before, but now I've seen plenty.

Anyway, the liner was everything that I had hoped, and the hat was inexpensive, so it was still a good buy, but I couldn't bear to look at it in that moth hole inferno, so I took it off and asked Ignacio to put it on an unlined Tress hat.

I like both the hat and the liner that way.

Sorry, Jim. [emoji2]

Don't apologise, you didn't sic the critters on it. Might as well enjoy the liner, at least. Just don't try to convince the next guy it's a DH. The hat gods will be angry.

Great hat. Having such beautiful daughters is a curse for us fathers. And yeah, the hat looks better on her than on you, but you already knew that.

I once told a friend something along those lines, and he replied "would you have really wanted them not to be pretty"?
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Very cool hat and especially since I don't see many that were first sold in my part of the world. I have a tie around here somewhere from Blach's.

I was attending a “Fitness Competition” in Miami, to cheer for my kid in a crowd of about 65 other contestants wearing the same outfit. Oy. It was a first for all of us.

Both gals here are my daughters, now mommies on their own. The daughter thing is quite a ride. I only had three brothers, and so had a LOT to learn...
