Tiffani said that the person who made those ribbons and bows worked there before she started at Optimo, which makes my hat at least 10 years old, and that the white liners were the standard five years ago.New to me Optimo Chicago. I bought it on eBay, so I don't know what model it is. I will send these pics to Tiffani. Maybe she can tell me.

I don't have much time - I am so busy these days it's hard to remember where I left my hat.
I did have a delivery in St. Joseph, MO a few weeks back and low and behold right next door to my customer was a Stetson Outlet Store. So I parked the truck and took an hour to peruse the goods.
Nothing. Nothing that fit, nothing that was attractive, nothing that was worth any money to me.
Then, just as I had given up hope, there appeared out of the dark corner of the back warehouse the biggest, most audacious hat I've ever seen. It was truly too ugly to not buy - and at 50% off how could I resist?
The open crown was about 6.5 inches. The brim is about 3.5 inches. The ribbon is so ugly I cut it off and burned it. The felt is 3 parts rabbit, 2 parts wool, 1 part cardboard and at least a half part fermaldahyde.
But you know what? I LOVE IT!!!!
THis is my new work hat. Good job, Stetson, thanks for a modern product I really, really like a LOT!!

It is kind of amazing, Jim. But I do see an awful lot of auctions by sellers that seem to be cleaning out the attic and stumbled upon the hat owned by their father or grandfather and just put it out there as is. And that's fine by me: blurry pictures and dust keep prices lowThat amazes me. When I sell something on eBay, I want the most I can get out of it. There's gold in cleaning things up and taking decent pics.
Sent directly from my mind to yours.
Very nice, Daniele. The proportions of this hat make it look like a much older hat.A perfect member of the Borsalino patrol bought in Milan
The other component are the "Borsalino Mysterious" and a third in a beautiful "Mirtillo"
Qualità Extra Superiore size 6 1/2 French measurements, so a 60 in EU and a 7 17" in US
Very thin and malleable felt, in a medium brown color. NO paper label on this one.
The changhes in color sre due to different days in which the pictures are shooted. It change very often
Proportions are: raw brim at 5.5 cm. ribbon is 5 cm. and the crown 11 cm. with matching ribbon
It is a very malleable hats, thin a light, with an "old" shape, very interesting for the first autumn
It came new from the historica factory of Borsalino in Alessandria
regardless of age, man that looks great on yaCavanagh derby (bowler). I suspect early to mid 1960s, but that’s just a guess.

When I posted the stingy pic I thought I had the Stan Laurel thing going. Thanks, Justin. Having a large head and not being what anyone would call svelte, such a hat invites comparisons to Oliver Hardy and that’s not the look I’m after. I’m still not sure if I’ll keep it or pass it on.

7 1/2 you say?Burton Taylor brown homburg made by Mallory dated 1958.
Light mothing and missing a liner. The felt is thin and easily shaped. The best part was I bought this with no idea of the size and it turned out to be a 7 1/2. Too small for me, but I’m betting I can find it a home. [emoji4]
