Would be great if you could scan or photograph the booklet and post it up here.
Thanks,
Michael

Yes, I am hoping too, will take a bit of time......LOTS of pages on this one AND I do not want to damage it! Has LOTS OF INFORMATION, covering everything from steaming and shaping hats, to pairing hats and cloths, to matching hats to face and body types.......and MORE!!!!!!!!! I was simply floored at all this booklet contains.....and it is in Great Shape!! LOTS of photographs and illustrations, plus ads from all the "Big Boys" with information on sales techniques and hat displays, as well as sales statistics......it is quite the "gold mine" on everything hats in 1944!!

Late 30s to early 40s would be my estimate on this one.

Very unique shade of green that will show up better in daylight shots once I brush her up and shape her properly

I’ll get some better shots for the Lee thread

But here is this beauty fresh from the shipping box

a truly stunning hat of superb quality

Amazing stuff moon

Anyhow, I recently sent @steur a homburg that was slightly small for me, he offered to send back a staalmeester in exchange but ended up sending it and a beautiful Habig too which was incredibly generous. I've been pretty busy so haven't posted these before now, I've yet to even brush them properly, or adjust creases. The staalmeester has a 2" brim and a binding, the darker Habig 2 3/8th. The felt on the Habig feels very nice.

Sandmann Wien XV, measures 58cm, Crown 6 inches, Brim Curled 2 inches maybe 1930s. I believe it's a multi color Wool or a Wool - Fur blend. The felt is really fantastic (colors, finish, hand) most likely a Flamand. It doesn't have any paper label and I believe it had a crown patch at one time. Heinrich Sandmann was Chairman of the Austrian and Vienna Hat Makers associations (as of 1926) but I haven't been able to find any other details. This hat is part one of a two Sandmann Wien XV find. I was contacted by the seller (from Vienna who I have purchased a number of hats from in the past) during by trip so I was able to pick up the hats along the way.

Don’t take this the wrong way, but that is just ridiculous, or rather ridiculously amazing! I am checking flights from London to Iowa and will start visiting every single vintage/thrift store in the State.... amazing find Michael, really beautiful.

Amazing hat and I imagine the felt is something else as well.

The hat box images made me smile, I was trying to work out why they would both be on the phone:
Woman: “I just called to say you look great in that hat.”
Man: “I know. That is because it is a Lee and that is why I bought it. Bye bye”

Aah, just saw that there is some text above their heads.

I'll look forward to the visit. Wesslyn isn't too far away and he seem to have better luck over there. But in either case you had better book the hotel room for quite awhile as the good stuff only shows up once a year or so.
Dang, Michael... Vintage shopping out here usually gets you tattered baseball caps and not much more. I'm super jealous of your awesome finds. This one is just tops.
This one came from a store that sells everything from novel junk, old tools and the like, to antique Persian rugs and solid gold pocket watches. They also sell some true vintage clothes and hats. Even at a store like that something interesting only shows up once and awhile, but that might be the kind of store you would want to check. I think it's a combination of consignment and items they buy on their own account at estate sales. But it's always a matter of time spent.

Thanks,
Michael
