I owned a black 1930s Stetson Standard Quality for a couple of years, which I loved but never wore it because it was a little small (7-3/8) and the sweatband threads were coming loose. A few weeks ago, I found its twin in 7-1/2 on a table at a gun show, but it was missing the sweatband. With nothing to preserve this time, I took it to Texas Hatters in Lockhart to have them install a new sweatband - I picked it up last Friday and they did an incredible job. I am not sure if this was a Standard Quality like my other one because the felt is much softer - and the felt is incredible. I can shape the brim anywhere I want it and it just stays in place. Brim is about 2-3/4" and original bash remains at 5". I love owning a piece of history that I can still wear!

Pre-Stetson Mallory Ten. Oh so soft, velvety felt and I liked the color.

Believe it or not, I pulled the trigger on this at 7AM Saturday. It was on my porch this afternoon. It has some staining on the top, an unfortunate remnant of being unlined. I shall have her bathed, shaped, and brought to my quarters.

Bonus: the wind trolley was tucked up under the ribbon - you couldn't see it from the seller's photos. I'm jazzed.
LOVE IT!

Edit: You stole this one! What a catch!

My new hat also comes from Stetston (well Stetson Europe...)
It quite cheap, it's made of some faux leather (cotton and polyester), but hey I believe it's supposed to last for just one season.
Over here in France it's called the Stetson Odenton. They do have a similar model made ouf of some real leather though. I might get it next year.

I'm glad because I usually wear trilbies in spring time and panamas in summer time and but this year I decided to change. This is my first pork pie and it looks quite unique. I'm bored to see everyone around me showing off their trilbies (even though it's a good sign that hats are becoming trendy again). But I guess I did not feel special enough :) Now I'm currently looking to wear a traveler this summer.

Scored a really nice Resistol at a fantastic price on a tip from my man Jim.

Really nice hat ... and I've really been craving a cattleman crease ... This hat showed up with one

I have to be honest ... I'm just not feeling this crease on me

I want to like it ... but I just don't
