This topper arrived today... excellent condition, almost as a brand new , except for the liner... and... fits me perfectly.

That is wonderful. I have a special fondness for my Adam, which is the first hat I "rebuilt" myself. It's one of my go to hats, even though it's a bit of a beater.

Please post more pics of the ribbon and interior, preferably over on ADAM ALLEY.

Thank you Fruno. There's something special about these Adam's. Thanks for the link to the Adam thread

It's been a little while since I've posted here but I found a couple of hats this weekend on a quick visit to Ft. Worth. This first one is an "Appleby of New York" I've never heard of the company before but they made a nice hat. I couldn't resist the proportions, the felted edge or the olive ribbon.

And my first cap:

My wife and I stopped by the Resistol outlet for the first time and it's well worth the visit. I picked up a nice soft Stetson Runabout for a really good price. I wanted a Stratoliner but they didn't have one in my size in anything other than grey :(.
All in all it was a good trip.

Thanks for the compliments! It was sold at a Younkers here in Iowa back in the day, and picked it up from an antique store. Surprisingly has no moth evidence. However I am considering a cleaning/reblocking or something.. to get it looking pristine, as it has creasing from a previous life I wish to take care of. Would I contact Optimo for this? Probably not the thread to ask but I didn't want to start a new one.

Just finished this custom job for a young hipster gentleman who wanted a raw edge, old school look in a hat that would withstand his active lifestyle and end up in the hands of his future grandchildren. We went with a Winchester rabbit fur in steel gray with a smoke gray ribbon treatment. I always get a huge kick out of this new breed of twentysomethings who seek a return to classic style and quality instead of settling for those little cloth things that are, laughingly, referred to as fedoras.
