Thanks. Never bashed a hat before but it was very easy. I got the akubra because i kept reading how tough they are and I'm moving to Suriname this year and I'll be in the sun on the river all day long. I figured this had would be a good balance of get the job done and looking good while doing it.

We've seen a few, but most of us never get tired of seeing nice hats. I think the hat suits you very well--nice clean crease, perfect crown height and brim width. And welcome to The Lounge!

So the older gentleman tells me he wants it in black, a 3 1/2" brim with slight side curls, a 4" telescoping crown, a 5/8" ribbon, and a bound edge. I say "sure, will you be picking that up yourself or will you be sending the Easter bunny?". I have to admit that, during the building process, it kind of grew on me. Here's my first official Mallory. She's a dane! I had a brown on that was newer and it got ruined. Pa...don't like to talk about it. Picked this darling up for only $29 on etsy. I have dated this one to be late 40s early 50s. The brim width is 2 3/4'' and the ribbon width about 1 3/4''. The color is something I do not see much. It's a fine navy with a darker navy ribbon. Mallory is one of my faves like Dobbs, Knox, and of course Stetson.

You MUST make a trip to Angel Falls in Venezuela while you are down there. It's not that far!

Humanshoes; apologies for the delay on this, but that broad brim beauty's the ballz! Super work, sweet results!
Thanks for that hatsRme. The old boy picked it up yesterday and was delighted. I kind of hated to see it go, but he looked liked he was born wearing it.

Great looking work, man. Did you start the hat from scratch, or did it start life as a hat? It looks fantastic! :eusa_clap
