They both look great, thanks for posting the pics. Did you have an option to get a bi swing back on the jacket if you had wanted? Do you think you would get one if you could order again?

Now that is one slick looking jacket Mr slick. The trim fit is perfect for the period look. Thanks for the extra pictures.

Loving the whole outfit!

No...Aero did not mention having a bi swing back as an option. and to be honest i never really thought about it until now...but it would add another nice touch to the jacket, so i would probably think about it if i was to order another jacket from Aero in the future.

Great jacket! And the trousers deserve a thread of their own. Are they vintage or a modern reproduction?

Mr Slick, you own that look. Summer's knocking on the door hard here this week, your photos are making me sad that I've had to put my Halfbelt away for another seven months. Great style and cool pics!

What did you ask for in ordering it to achieve that look?

Amanda is extremely helpful and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the Aero catalogue and the fits of each - she's your best bet. As a starting point, I would suggest asking for a Thirties Halfbelt with a Bootlegger front. Rufus (hasn't been round here for a long time busy man, but you'll still find his posts somewhere on here) ordered one that way and it turned out well. I have both a Thirties haflbelt and a Bootlegger which is standard exterior pattern, pretty much, but for the halfbelt-style cuffs. I've never laid one flat on the other sleeves wise, but I don't really see any appreciable difference in it. The Bootlegger is just fractionally (2-3", not more, it seems to me) more generous in the waist than the Thirties Halfbelt, which is a very tapered design. The Halfbelt is also just a couple of inches shorter, I think.

Thank you! The trousers are a modern reproduction called Gallipoli trousers which are very wide. I like them so much i have five pairs.

Who did they come from? I know that model name, just can't place the brand. I know they're not Heyday?

Benny, thanks for the kind words. Well autumn is here, and i have been patiently waiting to wear mine since may when it was finally delivered, but by then it was too warm!! so it will be nice to start wearing it more now.

Yes Edward...they are from Heyday, really nice trousers.

You know, after I posted that I googled the model name and discovered they are indeed Hey Day. I have a pair of those myself in chocolate brown - they really do help the period look. Have you machine washed yours? I think the label on my pegs, from memory, says it can be done, but I've not yet tried it...

I've been the same for months.... when I can afford it, I'm going to sort myself a Bootlegger in goat so I can have one for slightly warmer weather.

Yep....machine washed All my Heyday trousers with no problem at all Edward. They are in my opinion, the best repro trousers around at the moment.

Good to know! I'm hoping to have some run up from a few other places, but you definitely can't beat machine washable for convenience. It's a pain having to take things to the dry cleaner too often!
