alternatively you could adapt this

I knew it! And they say, they don't use surveillance to steal industrial secrets. HA! If this isn't proof, I don't know what is! Someone has obviously combined my potato-pot-flange-stand with my high-tech spinner before I had a chance to file a patent. "Flabbergasted" is a word I rarely find use for ... this is the time ...!!! lol

Found these for sale, any ideas what they are, listed as hat-making equipment.

Cheers.

Those complicated devices look like tippers, with swing down arms for the dents. The others look like a sort of band block. The smaller device can't clearly be seen. Maybe a sizer or cutter of some kind?

The workmanship on this tool is just phenomenal. Hand feel is smooth and light, and the whole process has been easy. The Lounge is really lucky to have workman like John!

Respect Aaron! You really go far in your quest to find the perfect solution to the fedora-ontop-of-Kippah challenge. Keep us posted, please :D

A very nice tool. Hatting and tool-making is catching a lot of loungers at the moment. Very interesting and inspiring to watch. Great work, John.

Thanks fellas. I'm glad you like it Aaron. It is a simple tool, but works well for the job.

I'll get right back to my old hat!

:)

I'm merely a hobbyist; the meager skills I have go into recreasing alone.

John: Here's my dent clamp with creaser and my tip stand.

Straight out of the book! Beautiful. Please PM or post a link to your website, I've gotta check it out!

I think what I'm looking at is a plant stand - it looks a lot taller.

Thanks, I feel a little silly ;-)

Here's an old wooden candle stick I converted to a spinner with an oak dowel. It's a little light on the bottom, but I'll glue it to a heavier piece. Finished it off with some parrafin wax.
