+1 - stunning.

Cal Leather makes a lesser known jacket to to their LAPD called the Ventura. Essentially a direct zip version of their LAPD. Very similar in style to this jacket. I’ve got a few and they are pretty amazing if you like this style.

That’s a Freewheelers Mulholland made from black *vintage Shinki Horsehide. *vintage = brown base and black overdyed

Somebody should do oneself a favor and get this jacket! I've had it for a day, returned it because it's 5 sizes too large for me, but I can confirm that the jacket is in an absolutely mint condition without a single stitch out of place and it's made from a hide you won't ever again see on a Vanson. I'm pretty sure it's Horween CX. It's even got that leather smell! Absolutely the nicest Vanson I've ever seen or handled.

Just add one inch to the P2P measurement. It's 25" with the outside zipper zipped and 23.5" with the other one. The jacket is a serious piece of equipment. It's extremely heavy and even more functional. The sleeve & inside pockets are leather lined. Kidney panel is padded with something. Worth 2x the price.

Yep.

I think that's the closest I've ever seen to looking like a Schott without being one. The mismatched grain is interesting - I quite like it, reminds me of my (long gone) first leather....
