Penman Crusader

Just ordered a Penman Crusader (Indy) in Brown Beaver. Would love to hear from others who have this hat. John was great in helping me out.

There isn't a great deal of Penman info here at the Lounge - you'll find a lot more and tons of pictures and comment over at the Club Obi Wan Indy forum, probably because Indy hats is where John got started.

You'll find a few threads here though, including this one.

I have a hat on order from John as well, should be ready before too long; an anniversary prezzie from my wife.

Thanks! This is actually my first "real" hat. Since I've started losing some of my hair and need to keep warm, I thought I would give this a try. Baseball caps are getting a bit old.

I have a non-Indy hat from John and I really like it. Although it's in need of a reflange at the moment. IMHO, John has the best blocks for the Last Crusade look out of the best known Indy hatters.

I am a very proud and happy owner of a Penman LC. It took a long time for me to plunge into the LC style (with Indy hats I'm more of a Raiders guy), but I'm glad I waited. I ended with the right hat from the right vendor at the right time! It was my near-constant companion for most of my cross-country train trip to the Queen Mary, and I still wear it quite often.

I've been a "virtual admirer" of Penman's work since joining the lounge, but only moments ago really keyed into that amazing brim shape.
