Russian sailors (click for large pic). These appear to be newer coats with 10 buttons instead of the earlier 12, and less shaping in the torso.

Oui, the Richelieu and her sister Jean Bart were real beauties. I believe Jean Bart was actually upgraded during the war in the U.S.

Peacoats are incredibly cool. I've been tempted but haven't made the plunge. I did however own a jacket in the sixties in that button style. There is something about that style which is timeless. Thanks for posting pics of all these!

Ukrainian peacoat. This is virtually identical to the one I have. Mine also has the tag which is printed on a piece of cloth and sewn in only at the corner. I wonder if that means it's a fake coat? I think these coats are common enough and cheap enough that they wouldn't be worth faking, but who knows.
