Does anyone know how or what I would use to clean a Parabuntal I have?

I recently swapped one of my lids with Garrett for a real nice raw Parabuntal body.

After soaking and blocking it....I wanted to flange the brim, but b4 flanging I ironed it flat 1st. Like an idiot, I did it on a lighter colored towel, which I've done in the past, but with felt. It left a colored residue on the buntal, now I don't know what to use to try and remove it. :eusa_doh:

Any ideas? [huh]

Finished buntals are a lacquered hat, from what little I've found on the subject.
Lacquer thinner?.... More heat and steam to sofften the finish?

Vic, I don't know if this was lacquered though, it was sent to me, basically rolled up.

I own a hat built from a rolled hat. It has a finish on it. This is what gives a buntal its shine.

You might call Graham at Optimo and pick his brain on this problem.

No and you may have all ready! Call Graham!
Well, I did give him a call yesterday and the woman who answered said he was gone for the day. I told her I was a member here, hoping that might help. She said that she'd have him call me tomorrow. Well I didn't get any return call today.

I wonder if Art would know anything.

Mike, Tony, how 'bout you guys? [huh]

Well, Graham called me back today, and sadly, I am disappointed with the answer he gave me.

I explained to him what i did exactly, knowing that I screwed up. He basically told me that I shouldn't have even done it to begin with, That I should've had it done professionally. Not the answer I was looking for really. shakeshead

So, all in all, I guess it is what it is, kinda sucks really.....live and learn. [huh]
