Hey, the jacket looks even better at a distance if you know what I mean. For those folks addicted to super high-end details, material and HIGH prices.... with a little space and leaving the electron microscope at home, these jackets look fab and make possibly the most "sense" financially. Not that this was in-expensive but.......... again, once well-worn in only the most picky or jaded jacket nerd would NOT be happy. I'll bet the hide will wear-in really well. to be clear, the close up pics also looked excellent to me.

Man that turned out INSANELY well! Let's be honest, fit is king. This is what it's all about. FANTASTIC!

That's super cool, i want one!

many thanks again for your kind words. I appreciate it.

Yes, there are certainly more perfect jackets for more money. But certainly more inferior ones for more money when I think of various fashion jackets.
But it's a sturdy jacket that will be perfect for many uses without having to panic about destroying the $ 2,000 gem. It's great for me. for the perfectionist who counts needle pricks and other things, it is rather nothing.
And don't forget, the process from the idea to the design to completion is a lot of fun and is worth a lot. And you always learn something

Thanks a lot:)
I looked it up on the internet and sent Shawn the link. Also from a video with assembly instructions for the buttons. Shawn's purchaser then apparently organized the buttons locally.

Very nice. I like this design. I'm a big fan of the original pilot shearlings (I have had a lot of wear out of my Irvin and B3), but what I particularly like about this is it's not just a lazy civilianising of the military designs, it's an actual, though-out civilian shearling jacket from the ground up. The nod to the Wrangler design gives it a period feel as well (as memory serves, the Wrangler denim original appeared some time around 1947/8ish).

After soon the time for cozy jackets is imminent, times looked if they still fits.
I finally have to send my next order, but I don't know 100% what I want yet.

What designs are you thinking for the new shearling? Shawn has those new RAF colors shearling now. Are you going for a vest? or a full jacket with sleeves? Shearling cafe racer maybe?
I got one in the pipeline with Shawn, just a basic vest, but with reversible zippers so I can wear it with the fur out if I want. The plan is to be able to convert any of my jacket into a grizzly. Don't know how that would work but I had to try.

I was actually thinking of a café racer, but I'm not sure if the shearling isn't too thick for that.
Right now I have an m-444 in mind,

but with this pocket setup and without reinforcements on the sleeves.

Or a crosszip also with similar pockets.

Can't wait to see your new Shearling jacket. Hand warmer pockets makes a lot of sense in winter jackets.

What is your experience with shearling jackets? The only one I have is suede outside and fur on the inside, so basically a rough out with fur on. But the shearling jackets here are "double faced" so its fur on one side and laminated grain leather on the other side? Would it also make sense to have full grain leather on one side (outside) and just line the whole interior in shearling? How thick is the laminated grain leather on the outside of the shearlings? Sorry, lot of questions. Shearlings is whole new category for me.

My only experience with shearling is that I love it. lol
For me there is hardly anything better in the cold. it creates a nice dry warmth and is really cozy.
Ultimately, it is simply a sheepskin that is treated on the leather side. In my case, there is a topcoat on it, which makes the whole more resistant to weathering.
Mine look like this:
