Didn't realize there was a limit per post. Here are some more Inside Stetson Shots:
Many of these still have the original size tags on them and looked to be never worn. The brown Thirty may be the exception. If it was worn it was barely. It's the one with a plastic liner in the crown

If there are any specific shots of any of these that anyone wants let me know and I will post.
Also I am wondering if when I do start selling these is there any value in Face Time or Skype etc to speed up viewing the hats?

Ivano, these look like they are possibly a large group of pre-WWII hats.

Canadian-made Stetsons have some different markings that sometimes don't match up with their US time periods, but the liners look like they go pretty far back.

If you click on the envelope at the top of the page you can see your conversations to send a private message/conversation. Or click on someone's icon and then click "start a conversation" to send them a private message.

those look to be 1930s. the liner style matches Stetson logos during that era

I wouldn't Skype or facetime, just posting photos should suffice. it'll be a lot of posting, but if you need help, I messaged you in the Fedoralounge conversation inbox. I have a way to take multiple photos and condense them down so the photo posting would be much less tedious, like this:

Ivano,

Take your time on this, all the folks here will be willing to help out - just that we are also your most likely buyers! It's only a slight conflict of interest, I personally have found everyone on this forum kind and patient.

Justin knows more on this era and he and other guys definitely know more about the non-Stetson brands. There are a couple of experts on Italian hats as well.

As a general rule hats 7 1/2 and larger can get very high demand because these sizes are very rare to find in vintage hats. Biltmores, Borsalinos, and Stetsons will be the most well known.

For more info, folks (including me) would rather discuss some of the issues like demand and pricing in a conversation/private message.

Ebay hits you with fees, which add up quick.

I'd recommend openong a PayPal, starting a classified thread and posting there with a price. Serious buyers may pay your asking, or may offer a little less, but it would be up to you to sell or not. vs Ebay, where if you dont put a reserve it can sell for whatever, and if you add a reserve, you are charged more on top of your final sale fees

Yes, the Ebay fees can certainly add up plus the vexation of dealing with them in the first place. The one big upside if I am selling an item that I am not able to price is that it is a true auction open to the world. If I sell an item I can rest assured I have likely received the best price for the item at that snapshot in time.

Ivano,

Back to basics (pardon again if it's too basic), the little envelope at the top right of your forum screen is for notification of conversations and private messages. It is next to the bell. Those are private digital message between only the people included on the message. You should have quite a few in there by now.

My message over to you has my icon, it's titled 100 Vintage Hats. Click over on it and reply, you can also see what information folks are sending you and any offers.

I hope that helps a little, sometimes the forum can be confusing.

I may be wrong, but I think most of the buyers of expensive vintage hats are either Loungers, or know of the FL.

These are great points -

I just saw your Stetson Thirty. Has anyone seen a pre-WWII Stetson Thirty? I have not and I could not find info even here on the Lounge. I saw Justin has a Stetson Special Twenty, but a Thirty?

Christmas is coming up, then there is my birthday in case Ivano wants to be generous. Otherwise I'm guessing a couple of guys would give their right pinky finger for that hat, plus postage! eBay will definitely measure the market.

...And those Borsas, and that Fratelli...

Maybe the competition will drive Justin's prices down, do you think? [emoji5]

I never came accross the Pietro Fratelli & Ca. From the stamp on the lining it looks like a brand made especially for the American market. I would like to see in particular the print on the lining to understand from what awards the origin of the hat could be. If there's a paper tag somewhere under the sweatband, send me a photograph it might be useful to understand, if possible with the others interiors of the Pietro Fratelli & Ca hats you have. There are others Italians brands as well as Borsalino? Thanks

...only if he sells one to buy another, pushing the second hat's price :) It's a zero-sum market.

But Justin's prices have always seemed more than fair, even with limited supply and Dr-Max-Demand!

Let's help get these hats to market, Ivano has a lot to offer and is being very nice.

Tried to send those via a personal message but I have not been able to sort this out yet.

In the meantime these are the five fedoras by Pietro Fratelli & CA. I have taken some close ups of the info on the lining. Interesting even though these hats appear to have never been worn there is no other (nothing at all) underneath the sweat band. The only observation I have is thy the sweat band has that string going through which all my Borsalino's have.
Has anyone ever heard of this Cinq Grand Prix written on the liner? As usual I welcome and quite enjoy the input. The sizes on these 5 are 2 at 6,3/4,and 3 at 7,3/8.

I presume these are prizes the hat. Company won at international expositions. For example: Chicago 1893 was the World's Fair; Guatemala 1897 was the Central America Exposition.

Stetson posted their own similar crests with medals and prizes.
