I don't normally shop anywhere but eBay, but I visited Etsy today and found this Borsalino for $56 and the Barbisio for $46.

I know next to nothing about Italian hats, but I knew enough not to waste time asking the Lounge if these were good deals. The Barbisio looks to me like it might be a 40s hat.

Now I just have to wait 2-6 weeks for these things to ship from Europe (it looks like maybe they are shipping from Greece).

Good score, Nathan. I was following that Barbisio for a bit. You won't be disappointed.

Great scores, Nathan! I've gotten a couple good ones from Etsy in the past. Looking forward to seeing what you do with them.

Thanks gentlemen! I am going to have a hard time containing my excitement waiting for these guys. This will be my first taste of vintage Italian since 2018!

I can sort of see the reasoning …

Personal Stetson of Charles M. Russell (1864 - 1926) originally sold through Nathan, Great Falls, MT & signed inside "Joe De Yong, Chateau, Montana". De Yong was the noted artist & illustrator of the Rancheros Visitadores hats. A gift to C.M. from Nancy C. Russell. Sold at auction in 2022 for $18,880.00.

My daughter sent me this photo of an auction hat I had shipped to her house (she wanted to repurpose the box for a Christmas gift).

At first I was thinking “WTF Auction-House-Shipper?” and then I remembered how the hat looked on the auction.

Also … the shipping was inexpensive, so “no harm, no foul”. :)
So.....they were in fact preserving its "shape" as advertised.....:D

It's beyond the budget a bit, but it sure is a nice looking hat.
