I’ve never liked how I looked in a derby

The stiff felt of the derby doesn’t always conform to my long oval head.

I already have a couple of derbies that I rarely wear.

Both of my derbies as black and if I ever were to get another it would be in a different color.

So of course I bought another black derby, but it had the original box so I couldn’t say no.

That one looks great, Brent. That may the only 5/8 bowler in existence!

Ps, Mike at Northwest has experience with custom bowlers other than black!

Well, that's certainly a victory, Brent. They can be shaped somewhat to fit you without a conformateur and formillon. Plenty of steam and patience should do the trick.

It’s amazing how much a little effort into a sale post can make or break the return. Beyond the blurry photos and no size listed, seller also included ‘dirty’ in the title to help deter bidders… I got this dime thin Nutria for less than a Jackson, by far my cheapest lid to date.

About 15 minutes of effort into it and she’s ready to go. #54 block, 4 inch raw edge brim, and what looks to be 6 1/4 crown or possibly 6 1/2. Rare size 62cm, but fits perfectly on me so closer to a 7 5/8.

Looks like this one will arrive tomorrow. I realized after it shipped the seller was in the same town as me (I think a first for me!) or I would have tried to arrange a pick up. Eh well.. it got a several day long tour of the county in the mean time. Looking forward to arrival.

Thanks Brent @deadlyhandsome for the heads up on this one.

Sellers photos… not sure I will improve much on these.

I suppose any local albertans or other Canadian hat hunters might find something of interest here, but it looks like the auction house takes international bidders as well.
