Auctions and buying hats online can be a gamble and when the hat(s) arrive, and sometimes even IF they arrive, it can be different from what you expected. Thse came in this week in one box.

It doesn't show as much on the pic, but it is really terrible. My guess is they wetted a few pizza boxes and shaped them into this monstrosity. And killed some poor bird to provide the feathers. Lest my name be mud from here on forwards, it will never be seen again (Luca Brasi style).

I know how much you wanted that hat, Max. It’s truly a thing of beauty. I love these old hats where the totality of the hat is so much more than the sum of it’s parts. You can’t really articulate why, but at a glance you can see how special it is.

One of the hats i always loved seeing from time to time posted by Alan, which could be said for his many.
This one and the Churchill Beaver “100” Made with Vicuna, which you also acquired, always were two that made me realize how wonderful a hat picture could give such enjoyment.
I hope we see them more often!

Out for delivery today…. Couple weeks for them to ship… but then only a couple days for delivery and Sunday delivery at that. Takes away some of that “double the selling price shipping sting” I suppose…. actually the hat outta do that on its own. Finally get to see what all the 7XCB love is all about! Thanks @BobHufford for the heads up on this one.

Not sure if it was the not so great listing details…. The auction site taking a dump a few days before or some combination there of… I’m shocked and grateful this one was able to fall to me. OH and clearly this little number was the featured item in this auction.

This one ranks as "item of interest". On auction at this very moment is this rather spiffy looking bicorn:

It once belonged to Napoleon and is likely to go for about $1.000.000 to $1.500.000. Before you dismiss it, here's a point of interest: the emperor wore a size 59! So, Max @drmaxtejeda , here is the ultimate in hard to find hats. Relatively speaking of course, because the famous Frenchman would have felt right at home here, having owned an estimated 120 hats, all made by Poupart&Cie. And this is the second hat on auction in a short period.
