Looks like the rare “Ticket No“ style.I saw this listing and thought “Silver Oval? That’s a model I have not heard of before”
Then I saw this:

(I’ve only had six hours sleep in three days so I’m borderline gullible)
This Miller Bros. "Sterling Beaver" was a gift from @Michael R as well (thanks buddy!!). Not sure of the beaver content, but the gold "wallpaper" applied to the end of the box implies that it was their top-of-the-line hat. This is the second crease I've put in it and it shapes easily. The felt feels amazing.
As Michael found it:
Today:
looks like most of MY boxes that show up here lolPacking gripes.
From an auction house: If the brim is wider than the box — find a different box or pack it diagonally. At least the shipping was fair.
Brent Black Panama. It will recover nicely as the brim was just slightly bent on the sides.

From a Goodwill auction center:
The box (not pictured) was much bigger than the brim, but they still did this. I’m guessing the packer used to work for Chipotle.
Panama from Montecristi Custom Hat Works of Santa Fe. Hoping it will recover

Quite the improvement !!Knocked some dust off, trimmed a bit of damaged edge off and steamed it up a bit on a hatblock and brim block.... Little bit better. First observation is that with wool a LITTLE steam goes a long way and gives it a mind of its own lol. At least until I figure out what to do with this poor thing, its not so embarrasing on the wall. It was ugly enough that I COULDNT leave it alone.
Guess I could always, iron the brim flat, sew on a row of dingleballs on the edge, burn a couple brands in it, and stick a big feather and kitchen match in the band... Someone on ebay might pay $1000 for a custom hat

I feel your pain lolI was pretty disappointed today when the mail lady dropped off this box today. Normally when I know there is a hat in the box it makes me smile. Today...not so much ! Folded up in this tiny little box was this poor old fedora. To add insult to injury it turns out it wasn't the hat I purchased.
* I contacted the seller and explained that if/ when they find the correct hat to please ship it in a larger box and not fold the hat up at all four corners like that. They responded with an apology and promise to ship correct hat out tomorrow in a more suitable box. We will see.
