I wasn’t on the lookout for another Borsalino coffin box hat. But I just couldn’t pass this one up... At least not at $11 I sure could not.

Much steam will be in this ones future I think.

Great find, Joe and for $11 I'd buy those all day long. Cool to see the Ceasar designation on the liner. There have been Ceasar hats as a separate brand and those could have been made by Borsalino as well. Is there a label inside this one?

For some reason this hat was speaking to me (with Pepé Le Pew's accent no less). With a $6.95 BIN and fairly priced shipping I pulled the trigger. I don't know why ... I probably shouldn't drink and shop.

Well, I can see why you pulled the trigger on it and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Score!

Thank you, Brent!
This Tirard is older. The date is stamped on the sweatband, 7 oct 1942. The war was going on, and Tirard was still making hats.
I am excited about this one.
I wonder what age the Tirard above has. Any opinions? View attachment 272663 View attachment 272664 View attachment 272665 View attachment 272666 View attachment 272667 View attachment 272668 View attachment 272669 View attachment 272670 View attachment 272671
Two very cool finds, Max. And a bonus that the homburg is date-stamped. Hard to pin a date on these French hats, because they didn't seem to change style for the longest time.

You just keep reeling them in, Brent!

Thanks Stefan. Always hope to find one On the inside. Shall wait and see when it arrives.

Thank you, will for sure share more when it’s here. I was tempted to trade a beautiful 7x to try and acquire another western, but I was thrilled to find this listing to buy outright. The seller posted back in February, somehow nobody nibbled.
