Let's see if Steve has seen this brand before. I know I haven't. Looks to be an early one, judging by its liner and the initial buttons on the sweatband.

Missed out on this Stetson 7XCB (it sold for $240) ...

...so I tried to offset the loss by buying some hats more in my price "comfort" range.

The first was this bowler/derby (grouped with a riding hat and a Tyrolean hat).

I asked for pics of the innards and the size. That settled it for me and I went deep ($32.50).

The other hat was a bit of a surprise since we just had a flurry of activity in the new thread for Valentine the Hatter (and I have two hats from that maker). Of course it's not my size (probably a 7), but I'm a "collector" when it comes to this marque and it was only $27.50. Maybe someday I'll find one that fits.

I thought that it might have been for "Joe Kirk" (an actor on the "Abbott and Costello Show"), but it turns out to be Joe Kirk -- a rancher near South Sioux Falls, NE.

Bill -- I plan to when the hat arrives and I can take better pics. I'll also add a thing or two related to the transition from Orange, NJ to Danbury, CT.

Selentino/Tonak

I really like these hats. They aren’t anything great, but the felt is usually soft and the hats are well-made. You can also often find them at bargain prices. I believe this is my 12th Selentino (not that I still have 12 of them). This is a 7 1/8 and it too is destined for a head other than mine.

I lost one to another Lounge member on Goodwill...must be a year or more now. I still kick myself for not making a higher bid. I promised myself that the next time I’d go all in. The photo you posted made me sigh...those don’t come up often.

Here’s hoping that your No Name and Valentine are 7 1/2 long ovals!

Here’s a rare find for those truly big headed folks: Stetson 3X Beaver in 7 7/8 extra long oval! According to the seller, it has a 2” brim and the sweatband stitching has come apart in a spot...whatever that means.

Seller is asking $125 and $8 shipping. Send me a PM if you’re interested and I’ll get you the link. Pity the brim isn’t wider.
